Hi,

I am new to this forum. I read through some of the threads and am impressed with the quality of the discussions.

Question: has anyone tinkered with the Satiator and a Stromer 983 Wh battery?

I do not know whether or not the battery will allow charging current to flow in even without a CAN bus communication present in order to effectively "unlock" the charging port. I exchanged an email with Justin (Grin Technologies) about this.

I read through http://f3.webmart.de/f.cfm?id=3514850&t=4082660&pg=4&r=threadview and learned that the CAN bus is used by the OEM charger to read battery information, e.g. Device actual current, Device actual voltage, Actual battery Wh capacity, battery temperature, and relative battery capacity. I do not know if it charges ConstantCurrent/ConstantVolt.

Any feedback greatly appreciated, especially if you tinkered with the Stromer charger, the 983 battery and/or in combination with the Satiator.

Hi Rob, any answer or solution on your question? I saw on another forum that the Stromer charger has apparently a simple resistor between the 2 comunication poles that unlocks the charging port of the battery, so all this idea that the charger would "read" the battery vital parameter is just untrue and the charger is apparently a basic charger, just with a small resistor between the 2 poles to allow to charge more money for it.

Has anyone managed to adapt a female XLR plug from the satiator to the Stromer battery port?

Here's all the posts on ES that include both Stromer and Battery(ies, etc), in case they're useful. (I have not read all of them in some time, so can't recall if they have hte answers you need).
