Does the M600 limit the speed? If so, please explain.

What is the total weight?
Re: FREY eMTB with Bafang m600 is developing with your ideas!
Ok got my bike its smooth as butter compared to ht1000 not as powerful for sure and limited to 45km which is a bit of a bummer other that that it feels more nimble and is noticeably lighter will be better off road and matches cadence better which makes it feel more like a bike if power is what your after go am1000 if well balanced emtb go m600

I've read the bafang M600 is governed at 28 mph and there is no way to override factory lock through the display. Is this accurate?
Re: FREY eMTB with Bafang m600 is developing with your ideas!
The speed limit varies depending on who you buy it from. Maybe you can ask Frey to see if they can have it programmed to 56mph.

Yes they are programmed to 45km/h. You cannot adjust the speed limit because it is set in firmware. It won't go much faster than 45km/h anyway. There is not enough power

My experience is that the pedal assist cuts out at 40kph (25mph). It will only go to 45kph (28mph) if you use the throttle. I was thinking it was just my version of the M600 but the Luna X1 boys are reporting the same. At first it was thought that the gearing was the governing factor but this has since been taken out of the equation with many now using a 38 or 40 tooth chainring.
There is also a convoluted speed override that you can do through the control buttons that will give you 45kph through the pedal assist but i have never bothered to try it.
As Animalector said, there really isn't enough power to go much faster then 45kph and even with a 40 tooth chainring, you would be spinning like a mad man to get above 45kph.

Re: FREY eMTB with Bafang m600 is developing with your ideas!
Actually, it appears they were too quick to assume that a speed limit existed for the pedal assistance. Michael has shown that he can activate the assist as high as 30mph. It seems that people weren't pedaling hard enough.

To activate the "override"/boost function, press the + button until the boost icon is displayed (it's a letter B with three lines next to it). Then press and hold the power button.
Here's a chart I made for a 42T front chainring. The cadences at the higher speeds aren't too extreme. I made one for km/h as well. I will install a 42T in mine to confirm fit. I also have a 40T I will test.

I just installed a 42T chainring on my X-1, and I can confirm that the pedal assist on the M600 does not stop at 25mph. In fact, I got it up to 30mph on flat ground using pedal assist (no throttle).

I have just confirmed with Frey that you can order the M600 with a 60 km/h (37 mph) speed limit.
