Hey,
Well, I use maxis front tires, up front at around 85 psi, and I like to use a Schwinn Slick, from the apple crate bikes back in the 70's on the rear. It has a nice smooth flat profile, and plenty of meat. They were being remade again a couple of years ago, but who knows where to get them now...
I have spun the rim in the tire, and now know that it has to be up at around 65 psi to hold! A little rubber cement insured good traction between the rim and tire, and provided great take off traction at the race, with no rim slip wasting precious take off power.
My time was recorded by Tom Breedlove of the E power Challenge, at the Human powered Races held at the Portland International Raceway.
But all we have are the start and stop times, of 11.6, and 12.4 for two different runs. I call it a 12 second 1/8th mile run. They have caught an average speed of 35 miles an hour, from a dead start, to a little over 70 MPH.
I wish we had zero to 60 and all that, maybe next time...
