Easy answer... it's safer and more comfortable to stand up. Harder answer, the Segway vehicle is the only electric "scooter" that has been legalized to drive on any road or sidewalk in my Province... No license, insurance or helmet necessary.

bike is more practical,ie. range,visibility,maneuverability,cost,etc.

Yeah really. I could shoot on a bike just fine, just have to have the bike setup for the right weight bias and steering sensitivity. Haven't you ever seen a James Bond movie?
