What a freaking idiot...
I'm NOT using a hub motor. It's a high efficiency brushless motor with a single reduction belt to the wheel.

It's interesting how he automatically associates 'fast' with 'hub motor'.

While doing efficiency tests tonight on the 5304/20" combo, I stopped in a parking lot and tried a couple of 0-100ft runs. Battery pack was a little over half drained, but the times were under 4 seconds. I'll be retesting on a fully charged pack, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's mid 3's.

The 5304/20 is a wheelie pulling monster! I positioned the bike with the back wheel at the bottom of a fairly steep loading ramp and it pulls with authority from a stop. In fact you can't give full throttle off the uphill start otherwise the bike will throw you off the back.

Now we're talking...

You'll have to be careful when the roads are wet. If you lean forward far enough and nail the throttle, you might be able to spin the rear on dry pavement.

Ever try it in the dirt?

It'll spin easily in dirt, but I think that has more to do with having road tires. Since my 'tank bag' is off the bike right now I have nowhere to mount my video cam. I'm going to have to build a proper mount and shoot some new vids.

3.5 seconds. I can't really get a good launch with the camera mounted though. The bike wants to wheelie and I can't lean forward enough to give full throttle off the line. :(

yesterday, tested my 5305 fo rthe 0-30mph time.

I got 7.1sec with current limited.

I feel that the voltage is the problem...I reach the top speed very quickly, but it stabilize fast too.

it appear that havinh more volt would give me more fun..

i'm getting regular 53kph on full charge, already hit 58kph on flat too, but i am thinking adding a 12V pack of A123 and to re-adjust my current limit to 60A... maybe i will get the famous 0-40mph on 7sec.. or less

Do you notice your amps dropping off before 30mph?

12 more volts and a 60A current limit should be interesting on a 5305. 0-30mph in the 4 second range?

Yes, My amp drop .

It start with something like 25 or 30A during the 0 to 5mph, reach 40A max during 6 to 15mph and drop from 16 to 30mph

I can keep 30mph with 750W on flat, so if i can match the right voltage to reach the 40A at top speed that would be interesting.
I watched the vid with 7kW 0 to 40mph. maybe I can do something similar...I would like to try!

I wonder if it's the 72V controller with 4110s fet upgrade or the one with 150V fets that would reach 7kW... 150V fets have higher mohms and would heat up faster...

I think the 5305 have very high limit due to the max quantity of wire turn and that would help to dissipate heat too.

4110 fet + 5305 + A123 high current at 80V+ maybe is a bomb that i do not assembled from now!?

I would like doing 4sec or less! I hope my dropout can hold that torque!

I can't wait to get 100v 30s 5p pack going... i think it would be impossible to keep the front on the ground.. it wheels very easily at 66v .... i even have 150v controller .. omg !!!!

Hehe, fastest post here till Luke gets around to whatever madness he has strapped to his bike. Had to do a few runs to get the launch nailed. Dual pie with my fat arse on it averaged 100' in 2.9secs at a top speed of 36mph. Best time was 2.6 @ 41mph, worst was 4 secs @33mph.
The race bike:

Peak power in : 318A at 91v
Peak power out: 24 Hp and 151ft/lb
