http://evsolutions.net/ aka Joshua Goldberg
He took my money in Jul 08 for LiFePo4 Batteries and used it to pay for other peoples batteries. I still do not have my batteries or my money.
If anyone here thinks of him as a friend and would like to STEP UP and help him refund me you can send money to ebike@rogers.com
$820.00

Translation of long post that follows

Joshua says paypal done him wrong because of Joshua's decision to not give us the batteries on the original time schedule and then he decided to fraudulently use Canadian purchasers funds to buy batteries for Americans. Insert endless list of promises of never to materialize payment here...

My Paypal Account is in USD and my Bank Account is in USD but according to
Paypal there was a Policy change and Revenue Canada are the ones to blame here.
Seems American money being transferred across the Border has to enter as
Canadian currency.

As for the Canadian side of all this I’m working on it and should know within
a couple of weeks. On the positive side the packs we get will have all the nifty
improvements Headway discovered were lacking in the first shipment.

Will now cover my ears so I won’t hear all the swearing form the American
side.

Ouch...!!!

Well I'd consult a lawyer regarding paypal. Unless you specifically requested
the monetary conversion they had no right doing it. Talking nice nice on the
phone will get you nowhere with them. The trick is getting a lawyer that will do
the work for a percentage of the amount to reclaim. Any lawyers in the group
buy??

Well lets hope Rob hasn't decided to abscond with the batteries and sell them
locally. You really need to contact his business if not him. Wasn't there
someone in the group buy that was only a couple miles away?? Dropping by witha
billy club or cop in tow might be in order if there is no word soon.

Unfortunately collecting the money then waiting to put in the purchase is akin
to playing the money market. Sometime you win and sometimes it takes a bloody
large chunk outta your arse.

So what is happening with the Canadian shipment? Are you calling it quits and
refunding or is it going through? Has it already gone through?

EVsolutions wrote:

Been unable to locate Rob for almost 3 weeks. He was supposed to meet Victoria
about the warranty and replacement parts and according to Victoria he never
appeared and did not respond to emails or phone calls.

I have stayed out of all this since the boat docked because Rob was into
handling everything but none of what I wanted or expected happened or it
happened really slowly.

There was supposed to be a website setup by Rob for everyone who got a pack or
cells that gave performance graphs and info on care & maintenance of the cells
and on replacing parts and so on. That website never happened beyond getting the
domain name.

The plan was Rob would be the Distributor for Headway and so his dealing with
Headway and everyone and their issues is included in the job description and so
far all that has been a roaring mess. You cannot have customer support when the
guy who is supposed to be doing it goes AWOL.

My own e-bike was stolen yesterday afternoon and then my wife informs me she
cancelled our theft insurance 2 months ago because no one in this area ever has
anything stolen and so I’m in a really evil mood right now.

Yesterday I started discussion with a company in Florida who does electric car
conversions. Their company CEO met Victoria last week and if they takeover from
Rob then replacement parts under Warranty and missing packs will flow through
their company.

As for a refund?

Well since Rob does have your order I’m not sure how that would work? I keep
assuming Rob will reappear.

When I decided to do this Group shipment I calculated I would lose about
$108.00 on the Foreign Exchange rate and Bank Transfer fees and I thought a mere
$108.00 was worth it to get all this done. Well that $108.00 loss turned into a
$5,400.00 loss and so I will have to destroy my Master Card and go on a diet (no
more Donuts) to cover that loss and of course having my wife laid off due to the
recession adds to the fun. To add another refund right now would not be
pleasant.

If anyone is curious how a $108.00 Loss mushroomed into a $5,400.00 Loss it was
because of the delays at Headway getting the order shipped out. Had the final
60% payment gone in before October 17 the loss had increased only a few hundred
dollars from when the first 40% payment was made.

When the initial 40% Down payment was made the Canadian Dollar was almost at Par
with the American Dollar and so my loss was only $108.00

Paypal (as a favor to me) the idiots sent the 60% Paypal Payment to me in
Canadian Funds just as the Canadian Dollar fell off a cliff. Since I had an
American Dollar Bank Account that I only used for Headway I had zero reason to
check the balance. When I went into the Bank for the 60% Balance Transfer I
discovered what Paypal had done.

The Canadian Dollar dropped from 98 Cents U.S. to 77 cents U.S. but my Bank
pegged it at 75 cents U.S.

So the 40% went in okay at $14,400.00 US.

When the 60% Balance was due the $21,600.00 U.S. was now only $16,200.00 U.S.
and $5,400.00 was missing because of the exchange rate drop-Ã oh what fun.

I tried to get Paypal to cough up the $5,400.00 since it was their being nice to
me that created the mess but they wouldn’t budge.

I ended up delaying the 60% Payment till December 01st hoping Headway would
lower their prices and the Canadian Dollar rebounded but the Dollar is fixed to
the price of Oil and with Oil trading so low the Dollar stayed low. Rob insisted
I send in the $21,600.00 on December 01st because everyone here was complaining
about the delays. Compounding the problem was my needing to refund payments in
U.S. Dollars using Canadian money to several people. End result was I lost a bit
under $6,400.00 and I didn’t even get a Headway pack for myself-à bugger.
Headway waited till they got the full payment and then lowered their prices. Had
they lowered it before I sent the 60% Balance my loss would have been smaller
and less painful.

The term “Giant Cluster F*ck” springs to mind here and with Rob vanishing it
is just one more nail in the ever expanding coffin.

Hi Joshua,
So has Rob emailed you on the status of my 48v 20amp order??????? ?? If Headway
sent out some dead on arrive BMS, Chargers and cells then why haven't they sent
replacements units out to rectify the problem? When I ordered battery packs from
Ping one had arrived with a faulty BMS. I emailed him and within a week I had a
replacement bms at my door step. I can't believe that it has been 8 months since
getting involved in this group buy and still no batteries. Can you get some
information on the date that my working pack will be shipped to me. Or just
refund me my money back.

Mike

"My Paypal Account is in USD and my Bank Account is in USD but according to

This is a totally false statement. Revenue Canada has no such policy/regulations. It is either a Paypal "policy" to cheat you or you had mistakenly asked Paypal to send a specific dollar amount of money to a specified Canadian Bank account. You can send US dollars to a Canadian Bank account, but it must identify US$ on the instrument. This mistake has happened to me in the past and I simply go to the bank and point out it was drawn on a US account and the bank pays me the funds in US$. The Canadian machine that reads the cheque (check) just reads a number and if the number has US behind it, the OCR kicks the cheque out for manual processing. To be very clear; If you send me a check, from the US for $100 and I deposit it, I will get $100C. If I scribble US ($100US) I will get $100US value (in Canadian funds), less the banks 1.75%. In Canada we have both US denominated bank accounts and credit cards. I deposit all US$ checks in my US account, take US$ out to spend or pay my US VISA from this account. No exchange rate, no bank fees. By pretending to be a FOREX money trader, you can setup an account and exchange currencies for $30 per $10,000 (0.3% instead of 1.75% bank fee). Both Revenue Canada and US CPB require all transactions of $10,000+ in their respective currencies, to be registered when crossing the border.

EvSolutions -- Avoid at all cost also a victim of Joshua Goldberg who took over 700.00 dollars from me. I was another one in his Lifepo4 group buy that didn't receive any batteries and paid him in full.
Mike

I probably would have participated in Goldberg's group buy, but I like to have at least some of the details hammered out before a deal goes down. When I started asking Goldberg for some details of his plans before I got involved, he got all offended and acted like I was questioning his integrity or something. All I wanted to know was whether he had thought about some of the problems he might possibly run into, and they would have been very simple questions to answer if he had actually bothered to do any planning.

In the Goldberg "LifeBatt Group Buy" thread that got deleted, I wrote this about my conversation with him:

I won't post his responses because he did not give me permission to do so, but they reflected the unprofessional atmosphere of this deal that raised the questions I had to begin with. I will not be doing business with him. I tend to trust him not to steal my money; he seems an honest enough crank, even in spite of the fact that his refusal to answer perfectly reasonable questions about the deal smells a little fishy. But in any case I don't trust him not to lose my money, mix up addresses, or any of a hundred other little problems that a person might run into in this sort of thing.

I think even less of him now that it's been two years and he still hasn't even tried to make any reparations to the people who got burned. Sorry you were one of them, Lesss.

Sorry to hear about it Lesss... I have been warning folks about Goldbrick, and Hardon, since they tag-team trolled me in 2007. At the very least your story will serve as a cautionary tale.

Don't we have a good size group in Toronto? Just make a group ride to his place. Be careful not to threaten, just a firm talking to that e-bike scammers don't get off easy any more.

Congrat's on making it into your 90's or more and still ebiking. 8)

Joshua Goldberg of evsolutions.net also ripped me off via Groupbuy

I was ripped off for over $1500. I wonder if that makes me the biggest loser here?

Josh, please look in a mirror. Really look.

Bob Rondeau

a used car dealer in toronto once had his own finance company[which oether dealers could us for a few points]... NOBODY ever defaulted on payments more than once.. his collectors were two of the bigest meanest , tough looking brute types he could find... when those two appeared on your doorstep your hand went into your pocket..QUICK!! to my knowledge they never had to go into action... who would be crazy enough to argue with haf a ton of beef

I can´t believe people are letting themselves be ripped off by a cross between Papa Smurf and Santa. I´d show up in person and get my batts with no being an unacceptable answer.

Lying cheating thieving bastards deserve the ruined reputations they get. I've even started posting this thread on other boards like kijiji Toronto.

Is the moon in the 7th house?
Has Jupiter aligned with Mars?
Will peace guide the planet, will Matt Goldberg ever give back OUR money?

Sung to the tune of...oh, nevermind...

Oh dnmun, I hate to rub this in, but yes, free health care is a fact of life here.

In my addled mind, I often hope that our voters will continue to see the clear choice before them regarding medical care... The standard for medical care is what is judged to be actually beyond rational. ..If we feel we can enhance or extend a life, we will pay more, far more, than what a cost/benefit analysis would find reasonable. As science makes more and more possible at greater and greater cost, I don't know what will happen.

Bring us your low-lives, and we will take care of them. Especially if you bring him to me personally!

p.s. Is he sick? I mean beyond the tendency to steal?

Oh, too bad. Really.

I knew he was a liar and that he would never do the right thing with all of us he stole from, but I still wished him a good life. There are many more higher powers than me, though.
