Well , while looking for freewheel adapters todays I came across this pocket scooter .

http://www.americanwheelchairs.com/specscocityE2.shtml

As you can see its a freewheel ( the first ive come acroos ) but what I m wondering is if my weight would have any adverse effects on the motor other than reducing the speed ?

As I want to slower speeds any way I wouldnt of thought being 20 / 30 lbs over the limit would be a bad thing for my purposes but perhaps Im wrong , any one have any ideas ?

Hi Checkola,

I think that scooter could work fine, but you may not like the effort that would be required to stay balanced on that board. If it is something that you would feel comfortable riding on though, than it would be an easy to carry mode of transporatation with a good range.

On the other hand, if you think you might prefer a model that has a better frame that would take less effort to control, than you could consider models like these:

Razor USA 13114501 EcoSmart Metro Electric Scooter - 40 minute range
(Swapping out the batteries to increase the range would be a must on this model, but the frame looks very good, and there is a good price on alibaba) http://www.lightinguniverse.com/gen...art-metro-electric-scooter-white_6898598.html

Currie Technologies E750 Electric Scooter in Red or E1000 in black - 15mph max and 12 mile range

Or this option of a modified Lashout scooter with a 32mph max speed and 20 mile range

What is the legal limit for electric scooters where you live? Is it top speed, motor power, or something else?

Hey Che,

Still looking for some help ?
What bits have you already got ?
You want to make a "backwards" trike, with a single GM motor at the back end ?

A crawler might work. A short, rubber tank-type rear track like some dueling robots use, with a front wheel for steering control. Low speed, forward and reverse capable, superior traction, light weight.
