Finaly I have something to show in this part of forum or better to say "back to the rootz..."
It started as test platform for colossus motors and how it will finish... we will see.
Motors and contollers are swapable and it will be possible to change the motor in less then a minute and controller in some three minutes.
battery voltage is 48V and max current will be 300A. There is 500W charger onboard...
Waiting for the sprockets and BMS.

There are some pictures on my web... http://www.greyb.org/dEgeneric.html

Is that bike available in the US?

Here are some updates.
It is moving. :D
Still needs new chain and decent battery pack. Every thing else is finished and fully functional...

truly a cool bike, hal.
Is the motor a me0907 single stator? I'm very curious since I have one too and
I want to mount it inside an Aprilia 125 frame.
Is it the noise in the video the real motor noise or it is loud because of the
microphone settings of the camera?
If it is not the case, I would say everything is according to what Mr. Fiorenza
is telling about using Kelly controllers with his motors ....

Nevertheless, I'm really not against a bit of electrical motor noise, providing the efficiency
is in the safe range, since it is helping to avoid being too much stealth in the traffic ...
... causing harm to yourself and the others ....

Just another Q: total weight and batteries?

have fun!

yes it is me0907. an it is quite noisy. It has samo resonant high pitch tone between 3300 and 3800 rpm. but after 3800 complete silence. You can hear only tyres and chain. From zero to few rpm sounds like diesel but that is because of low winding/magnet count and high rpm.
Overall I am quite happy with it. But can it be better? Yes. A lot better.
Who is Mr. Fiorenza? Where can I read what he said? the max consumption uphill was 70Wh/km and average upand downhill around 40. I guess I will be under 30 on flat with some average of 50km/h
Much less then my bikes :) ---> Must figure out why? But I guess because with bike I don't drive by the traffic rules :)

The weight with 48V20Ah LifePO4 is 11kg less then gas version w/o fluids, 104kg.

that is quite fine for me!
Who is Mr. Fiorenza? Where can I read what he said?

He is the owner of the Mars company that is producing-designing those motors.
Since I bought the motor from him directly, I exchanged few emails ... he is very kind-helpful...

He said about the motor:
I gave him magnets to convert the motor for Trapezoidal drive. This will probably be noisy.

The Sevcon is made for use with Sinusoidal excitation. I have worked with this company for many years. The motor works great with the Gen 4 series.

350 AC is OK on the ME0907. I do not think this should be done for more than 10-30 seconds.

and Trapezoidal drive is what Kelly implemented in their controller, while Sevcon are pure sinusoidal beasts

The guy converting motors is RIPPERTON and you can find load of info here:
http://www.diyelectriccar.com/forums/showthread.php/ripperton-electric-track-bike-41173p38.html?highlight=ME0913

50Wh/Km would be great for me ..... it will give 60Km trip capability with an acceptable 60Ah battery.

The weight with 48V20Ah LifePO4 is 11kg less then gas version w/o fluids, 104kg. It can be a lot lighter but I did not made any changes on frame, brakes, suspension, wheels, steering, seat, lights and other 12V instalation. I plan to legalise it so that will help a lot.

Street legal is great! Is it an easy task to get it in your country if you are a single individual and not a known company?
Good luck with it!

hal, just a small observation:
from datasheets I assume this motor is having a Voltage Constant of 70 RPM/V.
This make a top speed @48V of around 3500 RPM.
This is roughly confirmed by my exemplar tested @24V and rotating quite slow below 2000 RPM. :|

You told me that in your motorbike it is revving past that mark while using 48V battery.

This is interesting since I'm in the design phase and I should choose the right
battery voltage and motor to rear wheel ratio for my application.

Have you additional info or experimental evidence about this interesting point?

have fun

That sounds right. with 48V, gearing 1:5 and wheel circumference of 1,82m I have top speed of 74km/h actualy voltage at that moment was 51,3V
And my max voltage is 62V.

cool, hal! You gave me the remaining bits for the calculation. Thanks. :D

I suppose I could set my things for a battery pack voltage between 48 and 72 V.
Probably 60 V being a good compromise .... as you have settled on.
Assuming to use a motor to wheel ratio similar to yours, it would turn out in a top speed
between 70 and 105 Km/h @ 3300 to 5000 rpm, well within motor specs. :P

Probably 105Km/h would require an integral fiberglass body and low profile cigar-like
frame for a back lying pilot, but hey, It looks at least feasible

I got a 36 fet ecrazyman controller for the ME0907 ... It is very nice and I fitted it with IRFB3077 ... :D
This will be great for a battery voltage between 60 and 72 volts.
Max amp can be programmed between 100 and 200 amps battery side ...
this will provide a maximum of 13kW electrical Pin and around 15hp Pout max ...

now I need just some good battery pack and effort to clean the motorbike frame ...

How is it with the Colossus mod, HAL?
