AUG 12-14 Rochester NY-Moped/Scooter ebike Rally

So last year I took my ebike to the rally. It was an absolute blast. I have a couple other ebikes in the area that will be attending. It would be AWESOME if we could get some of the Ontario/Toronto guys to come down as well (only a few hour drive). It's an absolute blast, Mayhem, Destruction, bikes, checkout the pictures from last year:)

There is already a 20-25mph ride that all the mopeds take around some of the beautiful roads around the area. Most ebikes would have no trouble keeping up, so it's a perfect tag-along. If there is any interest at all I can have additional setup there to aid ebikers (Outlets, Meanwells, Ebike tools)

The obstacle course and slow-race are some of my favorite activities too (totally won on my ebike last year

I can put people up at my house if anyone wanted to come up early or stay late or anything as well. I know it's a little early to start thinking out to August, but its time to start thinking warm!

Coming up in a few weeks. I would love to see some ebikers here! It's going to be a really great time and ride. The "slow" race is aiming for about 25mph and 20mi long. That should be pretty reasonable for most ES ebikes, but if anyone wants to come that can't make that, we can alter the ride. It's going to be a blast!

I'm leaving this week to go test at Indy, then race there the following weekend, and then the weekend after that I am going to be racing in New Jersey (sept 4th.) So I will be up in that area for a few days between races, and I was thinking about staying up there for a couple of days after the last race since I have never been up to the North East coast. I would definately like to stop by and check out your builds.

Here's a report from the rally:

All in all a completely awesome weekend. I ended up being the only ebike but it was still a fantastic time. There are more and more mopeds every year.

Friday night had a great bon fire and some scooter crashes I rode straight from work with all my camping gear loaded up, decided to take the erie canal path for most of the way, lots of nice twisties and a few photo-ops.

Saturday: I rode in the "slow" ride which was about 30mph, it was a 40 mile ride which I still had about half charge when we got back. It was alot of fun to cruise silently with a bunch of mopeds/scooters.
We had a fantastic pig roast, as well as some crazy scooter races and the slow race. I thought I smelled burning so I quit the slow race while I was well in the lead, but as it turns out everything was fine.

Later on at night there were some punk/ska bands that played and I projected a movie on the barn in back of them, of a bunch of our scooter club rides edited down with some pictures, all the while a bon fire was going on.

I took the ebike down the airstrip (yes grass airstrip for the owner of the farm's airplanes) and ripped down there with some other scooters, into the woods. We did some laps through the mud. My bike, though completely top-heavy and had no rear suspension, kept up just fine with the scooters and dirt-bikes.

Sunday we had a great breakfast and cleaned up the war-field.

Next year, More ebikes!!!!

So most of these were ICE machines? I thought it was a huge EV rally with bikes and moped/scooters. Still really cool, but I was kinda suprised that there were that many EV machines in the area. Sounds like an awesome time though. Is this an annual thing? I might try to make it up to one of these if it is.

Its just our local scooter club rally. We are making an effort to cater to ebikes, but there just aren't any in the area. I have two friends with bikes, but theirs were in pieces...

I'd love to make it more of an EV rally, but this particular rally, is more geared toward mayhem and destruction
