want to import A2B Metro from the states to Australia

Postby happyfingers » Wed Aug 24, 2011 11:41 pm

Hello all

was told on the phone that the shop i was dealing with had the 2011 a2b metro and he told me a price
walked into that shop today (melbourne) only to find that they DID NOT have the 2011 model (as available in the usa)
so basically i walked out as i have no intention of buying the outdated model

can anyone recommend a source from the states to import one ?
is there an issue with the volatage not being able to self adjust tom 240 volts ? (i have a usa shaver that adjust no problems)

any help appreciated

I sent an email to ultramotors letting them know that i wasnt willing to purchase an outdated product for more than what the usa gets the updated product
around $3500 here in australia for an old model against $3100 in usa for the new model

ssdd here in Australia

Technically, the worst you would face is a new charger ( $50 -$100) and possibly warranty issues, ..but...
Have you checked out the freight costs, taxes and duties you would face for that size import. ??
but i feel your pain,.. the shop on Ebay .Au is asking $4300 for the A2B things !

you would be better off spending <$2k on the full spec Gette bike.

Well if you are going there, you could try packing one and bring it back as excess baggage ..?

They are available here now and you can get ex-demo 2010 models for $2200 from some dealers in the east.
I'm trying to find de-restriction options to get 500W out of it instead of the 200W limit. 25kph really is lame.
