ok we did it,,at 21 motors i have arranged for the order to be placed,,,so for anyone who wants a 5404/03 motor act fast cause there is little time left at this point.

i have been working hard to make this happen,,,we are at 21 motors but we need 9 more to make this a go,,,cut off will be nov 21st and this time for sure,,,either we will have 30 or if we are short i will try to make it happen at the number where at,,,a few dropped out but hopefully they will re-consider at this point and come back in because we are going to make the order nov 21st for sure,,,5404 Motors will have 11G phase wires and will have ss411A for hall effects , SKF or NSK bearings and Disc brake mount.

135mm dropout,but u can only use a one speed cassette or 3 speed cassette,,,(that is the only way it will fit in a standard 135mm rear drop-out) one or 3 speed cassette not included (no price on that yet)

all come with disc brake option.
Mounting on rim with 12G SS spokes 65$,,it can be mounted on a 23mm wide rim or 31mm wide rim,,,or just spokes cut out to size of rim u intend to use 25$ in both cases specify rim size.

MORE GOOD NEWS OR BAD NEWS DEPENDENT ON IF U SEE THE GLASS HALF EMPTY OR FULL: unless i myself get 30 orders there will be a delay in ordering,,,i.e. i get a total of 10 Canada/USA orders,,,well at that point (without getting into all the details) i can order the 10 motors according to clients requests,,,however i will not and cannot ship them in until im ready to bring in my regular order of clyte motors, as shipping smaller quantities becomes cost prohibitive,,,unless u want to pay 600$ per motor so to sum it up,,,30 motors i can ship in if i have 30 Canada/USA orders,,,,,29 motors and less i can ship in with my next regular clyte order which will be around Jan to march 2012. there is one other solution,,,once i have a list of 10 or 15 people i can arrange a special shipment but it will cost a bit extra then the regular price,,,maybe add 20 dollars to the overall cost,,,then voila!,,,everyone can get their motors in a timely fashion!so send ur email addresses and we can make this happen!

I'm not sure most people notice that it is a 5404, not a 5304. They don't know it's got about 1/3 more torque as its indestructible 5304 brother.

I am forever learning.... I have 3 collossus motors 2 big one small. As I learnt from lukes flaming cock motor every motor has its limits for power output at a given rpm. So the only way to make more power from the same motor is to volt up and gear down you cant do that with a hub motor! As well you can use a smaller motor that weighs less to make more power with a more centralized overall mass for the entire package! Don't get me wrong this motor is bad ass but I want performance and from an engineering stand point hub motors have no place on a race bike!

Very true, from a power to weight standpoint, hubmotors are absolutely horrible, horrible efficiency aswell. And even their burst power, IMHO there best feature, cannot really be used as they seem to reach magnetic saturation before anything impressive happens. BUT, That's an HX motor that was tested to its flaming plasma death, not an X5 IIRC. Having become quite intimate with the insides of both, I can say that an HX motor has about 1/2 of the Iron a X5300 and about 1/3 the thermal mass, not being attached to a massive aluminum casting. I'm betting that an X5300 hits saturation at about 14kw, and this new X5 at about 18Kw. and Even at 60% average Efficiency, that's one helluva lot of power, especially when you don't have to worry about it blowing your nards off if a controller throws a tantrum . I'm not quite done with them yet, there's some interesting possibilities with this motor in a very small wheel. at a very high voltage. with some serious cooling.

I spent a whole day dyno tuning my X5304 on 100volts with a 24 fet! I can melt the motor just as easy as luke did! The most HP my x5 can make is 6.53hp thats on 100v my top speed is 85km/h with a 20 inch wheel so I dont want more volts. Lukes motor made more power then mine because it was rewound to the best potential it could have mine is a stock x5304 with double phase wires and cooling fans! If I rewound it I would likely be able to make a little more power then luke but Im no interested in all the work right now. I have other things to finish like collossus which weighs less than 1/2 of an x5304 and can spike ~60hp for ten seconds thats about 6 times what you will ever see out of a x5404 with less then 1/3 the weight!

Sorry for the last post. This is a kick ass motor. Its going to be a long time till I can get collossus running properly. If I didn't have the X5304 already I would gladly get this one. This is a motor that 95% of the forum should consider. Its going to be turn key performance!
