The stress on that sharp bend in the frame must be tremendous. I wouldn't think that bamboo could take it.

We might be talking about two different bends, but the one I think you are talking about looks like it is two pieces joined together, not bent.

Someone was describing to me today that you can take bamboo, denature it's bamboo-form somehow, then compress it into other shapes. There are two curves there, one obviously two pieces and the other one possibly two pieces, or simply one piece that was-re compressed into the oddly sharp curve you see. Since stuff was made with machinery, which is cooler on one level, but also less cool than some of the natural bamboo bikes I've seen on instructables

I wonder how many falls it can take, before it needs replacing. Didn't think bamboo was strong either.

Nak25, Bamboo is actually tremendously strong. It's possibly you'd want to varnish or otherwise protect the outside, but I think you'd be surprised at how well it'd hold one. One part that I like the most about this one is that the frame should provide a sort of natural shock, since bamboo flexes like a spring well.

It looks like laminations similar to bamboo flooring. The deck pieces are joined to the neck/down tube.
I wonder if the main member is carved out of a solid laminated chunk or if it's hollow.
The deck sides appear to be solid. Hope it's soy based epoxy to be green.
