Nov 5th is a Saturday if anyone was wondering and thanks for the heads up. :D
I will be there for sure.

Are you open to having gas powered motorized bicycles come?

Their motto is "Get off your gass!" so mebbe not? I would hope all motorized bikes would be welcome though..

Cool!

I'll try to attend!

Man, I'm just missing out on a couple of good events. I'm flying out of Cali on the 25th of Oct, so I'm just missing the death race by 4 days, and I'm flying back into Cali on the 10th of Nov, so I'm just missing this bicycle show by 5 days.

Hope you guys have a good event.

You have some crappy timing, that sucks. I'm having trouble finding a bike rack to fit my car so I might not be able to bring my bike to any events.

Borrow or rent a trailer or build your own hauler. I had to build my own for the last race. Borrowing can be unreliable...

There is no way I'm going to install a trailer hitch on my car, it's not designed to tow anything. I'm going to try and disassemble the bike and fit it in the trunk, hopefully it will fit without having to Johnny 5 it.

I ride along with the local bike clubs around here in SoCal and this guy has been posting his bike show on our websites for the past 3 months. Looks interresting enough for me to want to go down to HB to check it out Saturday, November 5th 2011. I'm curious to see all the local electric bike vendors in one place trying to showing and promoting their ebikes. The Parade of Lights from 5pm - 8pm should be fun too... kind of like a mini Disneyland Electric Light Parade.

The Huntington Beach Bicycle Show is a family friendly gathering that celebrates holiday awareness through the stunning beauty, both physical and functional, of BICYCLES! The HB Bicycle Show is partnering with Bikes Build Futures to celebrate bicycles and their enthusiasts while building futures for the neglected youth of Orange County.

The mission of the Huntington Beach Bicycle Show is to bring together wholesalers, retailers and bike enthusiast to raise funds and awareness for the Build Futures organization and its Bikes Build Futures social enterprise. Bikes Build Futures receives donated bikes, reconditions them and resells them to the public. This business helps employ Orange County youth who are homeless, runaways, or at-risk and puts them on the path to becoming independent and contributing members of society. We are encouraging bike enthusiasts from Los Angeles to San Diego to come to the show to see the latest and greatest in bicycles and accessories and do some early Christmas shopping, enjoy the bicycle shows and learn about how they can help these kids through donations and volunteer opportunities.

I'm planning on going but earliest I can be there is 2pm since I plan to be working earlier that day.

I'm gonna be trying to meetup with yopappamon and his wife there maybe somewhere around PCH and Main Steet.

Anyone else wanna meetup with us? Oatnet?

I'm planning to go, if I can. Probably would arrive about 3pm (with kids, without e-bike).

It's actually supposed to rain in Huntington Beach on Friday and Sunday, but not on Saturday (the day of the bike show). So let's hope the weather man is right on this one and we don't get rained out.

I made a video clip that showed the bike show (or what was left of it when I finally got there) and the other half was video of the ride I took along the beach afterwards. I had to work most of the day on Saturday so when I finally arrived in Huntington Beach it was 4:30pm and the vendors were already starting to take down their display booths.

Most of the ebikes there on display were the hum-drum in performance (20mph and less, 20-mile range). I guess most of the vendors were trying to sell "street legall" ebikes. But there was one cool and stylish looking red beach cruiser by Pedego that caught my attention.

I met up with my friend Gary (E-Ticket) and his two boys and chatted a while. Sunset came pretty fast and vendors were almost all done packing away their bikes and display booths. I got bored so I stuck the GoPro camera on the end of a stick and went for a ride down Main Street and along the beach as the sun went down.

It got dark fast and there was supposed to be a "Parade of Lights and Electric Bikes" along the beach. I rode around but never found it. All I saw was a man and woman riding their two bicycles decorated with a strings of Christmas lights wrapped around their bikes. They were looking for the parade too.

Anyway, here's the video. (Sorry the camera was aimed too low at the beginning of the video.)
