Bryston B4 Stereo Amp

Postby Wolfy » Thu Nov 03, 2011 1:48 pm

The legendary Bryston 4B power amp is a true high power 200w per channel RMS stereo amp.
Can be used as an amp for a rented hall, monitor amp in a live band,or just insane home use.
This thing weighs a ton so really don't want to have to ship anywhere.Prefer pick-up in Hamilton Ontario. You'll hurt yourself caring it if not careful.
Was manufactured in mid to late 1970's.A favourite of rock bands playing in bars and clubs.
This one had all the caps and other components (not sure what, diodes and/or resistors?) replaced and retuned by OEM plant north of Toronto in 2006.
(Apparently some electronic components do get tired with age not just use.I'm not an electronic Techie)
This one was not used commercially, just for domestic use by someone really into heavy metal.
This thing kicks ass!!!
Looking for $700 picked up.
New reduced price
$580 OBO

If you were in the UK I would take it off your hands as they work great for NS10M studio monitors. Advertise it on www.gearslutz.com in the for sale section, you will sell it for sure.

Had a couple of nibbles but no bites.
Do I gotta put a fresh worm on the hook?
Serial #44335.
Plugs in standard wall outlet but draws 1500w.
This is a 200w x2 or 400w mono amp.......that's rms not peak power.
It's a heavy brute and I'm getting tired of moving it.
I'll drop the price to $500 for ES only.

Thanks for the hot tip Spacey.I do appreciate the help.
However,to my dismay I cannot even access the classifieds area.
That Forum will not allow any access for at least 5 days for new regestrants.
Then maybe not at all if you don't post anything.
Hell of a way to welcome new members.
Seems they think that is the best way to prevent Spammers.
I like this Forum even better now...........ES is definitely more grounded and welcoming. :D

I moved one of these on Ebay last year for $900 - I'd be trying my luck there as well.
New evil decided - GNG offroad build on Craftworks DHR with 12S4P lipo. Aim - Light, balanced, powerful, able to climb a tree.
Project Vectrix restarted. Status - BMS + Charge control redesign (read faffing with batteries again)

Somewhat offtopic, I'm sorry, but it took me three days and several dozen attempts to get on ES. For some reason the CAPTCHA was so absurdly difficult I don't know why I was getting it wrong every time. I think they changed it a bit, though.
New to endless-sphere? Notice a lot of signatures recommending Ebike.ca? That's because it's the best place for a quality and manageable, (but still 'real'), first build. Justin is a solid supporter of electric bike development, and a good source of equipment.

My hat off a thousand times to the green people that effectively run this forum. The ES Mods are superb.
