Good practice guidelines call for fuses within 4" of the battery, so would be good if it was incorporated into the harness. But most folks around here apparently don't care about fusing safely. I've had fuses in Lipo harness save me a lot of grief, but it is hard to use them in these high current applications.

One thing might be to offer fuse holder, or fusible link wire with compatible bullet connectors. The pack builder can use them or not. Or use fusible link wire in a specific place in the harness to control which wire melts first.

So far I have ordered 3 harness's from IceCube. I sent the 1st one back so he could use parts off it for my 2nd one.
Attached are pics of my 12s2p harness and the one I use the most 18s4p. So far I have had good luck with my packs
and check to make sure they are balanced every few rides.

Need to do some mods to my controller , but plan on getting a 24s harness in the near future.

I would love to have 5.5 mm bullets everywhere, but that means sending my hubs and controllers out to be converted. Do they make green, yellow, and blue bullets? I have three controlles, and each one has different phase connectors, but they all have the same halls connector. Weird.

Very nice work and all ICECubeMaN...One thing that (personally) i don't
like with harness like this is the massive jumble of wires it creates.
There is a very neat and inexpensive way to get around this, and something
that might make your 'job' easier and quicker ICEMaN... Still using the bullets...

Image
once its made, a lil hot glue over them, then slip double walled heat shrink over the lot to makez it look 'pro'

You can make small 'bus bar' type setups, i used that 'strip board' to hold the bullets for a
series connection of my 44v 20ah lipo pack on my cruiser. I made a simple jig, drill holes
size of the bullts in a peice of MDF then drilled the same hole pattern in the board and
popped the board on the bullets and soldered them to it...Made for a neat compact
pack without a mess of wires to deal with..

Image

^^^This was the original sent to me by GGoodrum...i simple copied his idea, as you can
see with this adapter, it also has charging plugs...Personally i don't like or use (anymore)
andersons, shits of things IMHO... Anyhoot...te harness combined with paralel adapter boards
ES Member Methods now selling some rippers of these..

Makes for a neater pack IMO, with ALOT less jumble of wires and individual connectors to deal with...

Image

....very easy to connect and disconnect them also...Thought it might be of interest to
your future 'customers' and, maybe something to add to your line?

Keepz up the good work anywayz, ICEDuDez ;-)

I'll concede, if he comes back within a week to claim his winnings. Otherwise, I think I'll have to ask if I can send a harness in for modification and get a discount.

Yup! I need a 4S, 5P harness. Also, I wanted to ask if you can just build it, and give me until Dec 3 to pay, and ship it then?
I'll keep the harness I have, it's perfect for trips to the store.

Ever consider making something like this?
Image

( there is of course a slice of non-conductive material that goes in between those power leads to prevent a smoke show, lol... )

These work really well up to 3p ( 4p is a stretch )... save you some copper.. a bit of weight.. etc.

Just thought i'd throw you an idea for your biz.

Pro-tips for noobs: Avoid BMS Battery like the plague | Charge RC Lipos to 4.15v, stop discharging at 3.5-3.6v | Use torque plates/arms! | Rear mounted hubs are always best

PM sent, but if that's my new harness you can just throw in some extra premade jumpers, instead of tearing up a finished product.

Charging my son's 10S4P pack tonite for the first time. Just finished. Looking good. Using Cellpro 10S charger, charging whole pack at once. Will be very convenient once I get all the wiring for the balance leads finished. Using the geoff SMD LVC boards which brings it down to a pair of JST-XH, then to a PCB I made that converts to a DB-15, to a DB-15 extention cable, to another PCB I made, then to a pair of Cellpro cables into the charger. Separate cable to handle the main charging current. So the charge cycle will be - connect PowerPole charging cable and DB-15 balance leads and push one button. Balance charge every time. Cycle analyst programmed to cut on low pack voltage and geoff's LVC boards to clamp throttle so double protection on discharge.

Anyway, thanks for the excellent main 10S4P cable set!
