Doubt it was an ebike, but he is 81: http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/13/showbiz/hackman-accident/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

Why is ebike spell corrected on this site?

His name is Mr. Ed Benjamin.

He created the Light electric vehicle Association.

You can speak with him at Interbike if you like, just sign up to go to the LEVA Dinner...

You can read his work in the Electric Bicycle Industry report, that he writes with Mr. Frank Jamerson.

He actually has his finger on the pulse of the industry.

He also wrote a great article in EV industry news about illegal high speed E bikes, and the million dollar fines for selling them...

Hehe... Fun/old thread. My vote? Get to kids/youth.

Somebuddy said once... who shall "inherit the earth"?

One way to "sell" the young is to maybe use an injured/crippled animal (kitten, etc) given human characteristics like speech. A survivor of a traffic "accident" where their parent did NOT survive. (I've read reports about many young, "urban" folks now disinclined to get into car ownership.)

Hehe... Guess the thought here is to help KILL THE CAR (use of) more than to promote the E-bike. Watts this "E-bike industry spokesperson" to do? Promo ebikes? Or point out the follies of car ownership...

One of my favorites, Gene Hackman. Slim and healthy at 87. Bought a Trek mid drive from "The Broken Spoke" in Santa Fe, New Mexico...Guy on the right is Owen Conley, master bike mechanic.

Hehe... I still say ya get `em addicted at an early age...

Two words/phrases seen in Wikipedia...

Hero worship:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero_worship

... and Saturday-morning cartoon:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday-morning_cartoon

So. Rather than having some "spendy" actor/actress as an "E-bike industry spokesperson"... (watt some kids might term an "Old Fart")... ya go "Fembot"-style, but with a whole family of cartoon characters (Mom-and-Pop - most kids "heroes"... AND kids all riding around living life better electrically). Like Mick-E:

Then beyond the cartoons seen on ES TV etc ya gots yer "spin off" real toys... etc.
