Running magicshine 900 light heads from the main pack.

I'm looking at installing a magicshine 808 head (or three) from geomangear on my trike.

I have a 48v-->12v converter on the trike. I've read the the heads will take 12v, but that the caps in the light head are only rated for 10v.

I'd prefer not to run things over their rated capacity, even if it's possible, and I don't really want to buy another dc-dc converter.

So my question - If I connect two heads with serial wiring, will I be able to run them both off the 12v line? I understand the driver for the magicshines shuts off at 5v, so 6v each should light them up, yes?

the caps may not be on the input. they may stabilize the output of a SMPS circuit that supplies the low voltage the leds need. analyze the circuit.
