Wanted, Rear Wheel 20 inch Hub Motor &/or Kit

Postby LI-ghtcycle » Wed Feb 15, 2012 1:35 pm

Looking for a used average 20 inch rear hub motor. Direct Drive or Geared, something like a higher speed 9C in the DD would be great, like a 9 x 7 or faster preferred.

Doesn't have to be perfect cosmetically just mechanically sound.
Thank you Justin_Le for your selfless act of kindness! We all are in your debt.

My latest build: Vision R40 with Golden Motor "800W" Trike motor as mid-drive, NuVinci N171B rear wheel as transmission, 30 MPH on 12S (46V) 12 AH Turnigy Nanotech LiPo (25-50c) able to climb tall hills on a single Amp Hour!

Just as an up-date, it looks like something like a 2805 (10 x 5 winding?) 9C would be ideal as I would like around 20 MPH at 36V and I would also consider a Bafang or MAC with similar speed at 36V thanks!

P.S. I forgot to mention, the 2805 makes about 23 MPH at 36V, and makes it ideal, so any 20 inch rear hub motor that would make about that speed is what I am looking for.

Thanks!

Just be aware that 23 mph shown on Justin's simulator is the "unloaded" speed, and hence your actual speed will be less, especially against a headwind - or going up any type of slope.

You are looking for an approx. 12kV wound motor.

If you really want to be riding at 23 mph, you'll want to up your voltage from 36v (nom).

Good point Joe, I'm not really expecting too much solid speed on the top with 36V, just don't want it topping out at 12 MPH.
