Hi gensem,

Have you recieved that shock you sent me a link for yet? If so, how is it working out?

Got pics and thoughts on it?

I haven't ordered one yet, waiting to hear how it will work out for you.

Thanks,
Jay :)

Happy days. The swingarm made it this PM.

Looks nice, can't see it ever breaking.

Your pricing is too low. If you offered a pinched drop out and a derailer tab you could get much more.

As it is, you still need to up the buyin.

Thanks Farfle.

It's really, really, really, really nice. If the genesis had more room in the triangle for batteries...... I'd be first in line..

For batts I'm thinkin' vertical on the 'sides' and horizontal in the belly ( ), underneath the tri?!

Or all in the belly might work too, leaving the tri open for ..whatever..

The belly of the beast..! 8) hehe, hmmmm...

Thought you guys would like to see what my son in law did with one of those swingarms. He added pinch bolts and a derailer tab to the dropouts.

He is running 22s lipo with a Lyen 12 fet. 18s2p in the triangle and 4s2p on the rear rack that powers a HS3548 motor (12 wires x 5 turns). 17" motorcycle rims with a 2.75" tire.

Items still to be added are better forks and rear suspension shock and 140mm cranks. He is not done with the battery enclosure either, just needs to make it pretty.

No idea of the top speed yet, but on it's first run with a battery that was 5v low, it hit 40mph in a city block and still was pulling strong. The longer swingarm really helps control wheelies.

Dave is stroked. Check out his EV grin. :D

The arm is very well made. the dropouts are freakin GREAT!

Anybody planning to change the front forks and rear shock on these frames. I'm wondering what is out there that would work.

I've got Fox 40's on mine. They fit right on using the stock bearings and sfuff.

I'm waiting on Gensem to report his feedback reguarding a rear shock he will be using. It looks good at a great price.

Any word yet Gensem?

The suspension on this bike is definitely even worse than my old Schwinn S60. It will probably be a good idea to replace at least the front fork with something that can take high speed braking a bit better. I'm worried about the stock fork exploding under the force of a 6 pot Gatorbrake and 9" rotor...

Anyone have any recommendations for decent cheap stuff? I never purchased bike suspension parts.

The shock size is 6.5 x 1.5 in.

Any 1 1/8 steerer fork should work.
tons of stuff on ebay that people take off when upgrading.

Using some washers/bushings, this guy installed an X Fusion O2 prime.
I bet you can install various other brands too.
I don't think the mounting system here is proprietary in any way.

Here is one opinion of that shock VS a low end Fox shock.

I am putting an old school rock shox judy on the front of mine ( old school, but solid ), and eventually going for the X Fusion.

I'm glad the rear shocks are so cheap.. :).. may be lighter than the rear spring as well!
