6 Wheel ATV

I was thinking of building one of these from scratch. http://vintageprojects.com/go-kart/six- ... t-atv.html

Turns out there's the opportunity to buy one and convert it. http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/mcy/2909543175.html

The important thing to remember is that you don't have a steering wheel, you have the sides powered separately, so one side slows to turn. Sort of like ski poles? (Never drove one and I'm trying to explain how.) Not sure about braking. Reverse usually is a matter of pulling your sticks back, I think.

Just wondering if people have thoughts. I'm guessing series motors, one for each side. . . .

Are they amphibious? If they are they would need a corkscrew-grooved tyre for water.

Edit: I looked at the ad. Tyres with deep, full-width groves would provide faster speed through the water. Corkscrew isn't the right word. :)

A lot of holes to be patched and the tyres look shot. It's a very handy vehicle you could even go fishing.
