Thank you. It's nice to see that I should be seeing the same amount of torque I currently get at 0mph now at 30mph :) :!: :!:

The battery amps are on the optimistic side in the simulator compared to what I'm seeing. I PM'd justin with my observed data to see if he wants to tweak it a little. Speeds are within 1-2mph of what I'm getting when I put my info in so that looks good.

Just bumping this to let everyone know that Greyborg hit a technical problem at the end which is delaying the shipment of the motors by 2-3 weeks. I've refunded all deposits because of this and will post updates at a later date. Sorry guys, but it's going to be a few more weeks. The situation is out of my control and Greyborg is doing what they can to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Trust me I know, we all feel the same way. This is why I've been so adamant about not holding onto much of peoples money until I knew I would be able to deliver in a reasonable amount of time.

My goal is to make sure I can keep my customers informed and happy, but in business it doesn't always work out as smooth as you plan. That is why I have my own very strict money handling policy. I've seen too many internet deals/dealers/group buys go wrong and I don't want to be one of the guys that people hate because he ran off with everyone's money and didn't deliver any products.

The motors are still going to be available in the very near future, but this time there will not be any deposits. It will be a complete sale after the motor is in my hands ready to ship.

Refund was recieved as stated.
Got it. Thanks for 1st class service and ethical handling of money.

Courious as to what the technical issue is that caused the delay?
Was it customs? Was there a problem that was found in quality control check?
Will I still keep my place in line when first shipment arrives?

So here are the details for the delay. The motor axles did not pass a final QC check which was done right before they were ready to be shipped to me. While they were plenty strong the manufacturer did not follow the diagrams on how to make them and just did what ever they wanted. In a certain type of dropout it could cause a possible issue with pinching the wires so Greyborg decided to hold off shipping them and get all new axles made to the spec they intended and change them all out. They do not want to release a product that does not meet their standards.

New axles are now 16mm with standard 10mm flats as the originals were. I'm awaiting final length measurement, but they were ordered to be longer than the original axles. Greyborg is now in the process of changing out the old axles for the new ones.

That's the reason for the delay. Typical Chinese manufacturing. They can produce good products, but if you can't afford to have someone babysit the company making your product they will do what ever they want and there is very little you can do about it.

I'll update everyone when the motors are ready to be shipped to me.

Good! no - great! the wider the axle, the better. This will be just a bit easier on the torque plates/arms. This is good news.

Glad to hear about the QC and the 16mm axle. With all this torque having the larger diameter axle is very helpful.

I updated the first post with the axle size specs for those wondering how long the axle will be and how long the threaded length will be.

Score! Epoxying my dropout torque plates was pretty sketchy... A bigger axle will make me feel better

A 16mm axle will be a blessing that is worth the wait IMHO.

You posted on the first page that the axle will be 8.8" long. Subtract 5.31" for a 135mm frame from that, and you have about 3.5" exposed, or 1.75" per side. I think the nuts were 5/8"', 3/16" for washer/lock washer, 5/16" for dropouts. Thats a total of 1 1/8" of axle stub accounted for, leaving 5/8" for a torque arm, and spacers if you need to stretch your 135mm frame to fit a disk caliper.

If you don't like to leave the nut on the very last thread, call it 1/2" for torque arm and spacers.

And on 150mm frame, .29" for torque arm and spacers.

You also posted on the first page that the threaded area was 1.57" on each side - if that is the length of the flats, then that leaves 0.45" for torque arms on a 135mm frame, and 0.11" on a 150mm frame.

They are being re assembled now. I think they will ship out to some time me next week so I'm guessing 3 weeks until I have them. I'll confirm when I have solid info such as when the motors actually start their journey to me.
