The magnet is 12mm x 1mm Neodymium,

The gap between the top of the magnet and the sensor is approximately 10mm. A thicker magnet (2mm) will give more flux, so would allow a bigger gap.

I added the spacer behind the sensor before fitting the extra magnet and it wasn't enough, so I don't know the maximum gap I can have with this magnet.

That's exactly what I was thinking! I have a bunch of magnets from different projects hiding somewhere. I'll have to dig up a good size and slap it on there.

I have bought my speedict from Speedict Technology LTD. in Hong Kong and it was in use since 05/2011 and wanted to do a firmware upgrade, but this failed, now no firmware is installed. I also have tried to reinstall the last working firmware 2.0 but even this failed. :(
Now, is it dead or what could I do? Please help!
Thanks, Manfred

Keep trying. For me it takes at least two attempts. I've done 4 firmware upgrades and it's been the same each time on two different computers.

Also, there seems to be some problem with the USB driver: Each time my upgrade fails, I have to completely uninstall the driver and re-install it. Have a look at your Windows Control Panel. Device manager or whatever they call it these days and you might see the exclamation mark (error code) against the device.

Sometimes, after the second attempt, Speedict PC Suite still tells me I'm unsuccessful, but, after repairing the USB driver, it shows me that the later version is installed, so I was successful after all.
All my present bikes that I built can be seen here: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/members/d8veh.html

recently we have received firmware upgrade issues e.g. upgrade failed and need to re-install speedict usb driver, need 2 to 3 attempts and re-install usb driver to complete the upgrade process.
the problem (need to re-install usb driver) was caused by windows' plug&play, during firmware upgrade speedict ebike need to reset its usb port (for new code replacement) therefore you will hear "dong dong" sound when your usb still connected to speedict ebike (act like you unplug and plug in usb, you will hear such dong dong sound), however if windows plug & play has problem, speedict ebike can not detect usb again, it will prompt error ... when manually unplug and plug in usb again and speedict ebike detected usb then will continue the rest of upgrade process, because of entire upgrade process the usb need to be reset twice (depend on firmware version) so after few manual unplug and plug work, the upgrade complete.

i have windows 7 32 bit installed on my mac via virtual box, i have got same issues at first, on virtual windows 7 when usb is detected i need to tell virtual machine the usb is either for mac or windows system however the default go to mac os x system, so during firmware upgrade, whenever usb is reset and the usb p&p set usb host to mac os x ! i then by configured virtual machine the default speedict usb host to windows 7 the problem solved.

We just removed the firmware 2.3 upgrade from our website because recently we have received few report regarding the performance of the throttle response.

later today we will release a new firmware and android client that allow speedict ebike's detail settings and real time port value be logged and email to us via internet for analysis !

@speedict a few pages ago, you mentioned the possibility of a wi-fi version of the speedict.

any news on that ? then we should have an iphone compatible speedict.

Hi Danny,

I just bought a speedict and I was wondering a few questions :
What are the mods needed to run it at higher than 80v ? Is it an hardware or a software mod ?
Also, would it be possible, in a future firmware release, to increase the temp limit from 100 Celsius to 150 Celsius ?
How much would you sell you "spark-free" board ?
Last question: is the lm35 temp sensor 5v supplied ? (so I can run it from the halls signal)

Thanks
Pierre

1. 80v is hardware capable, do you want it higher than 80 ? then what's your max voltage in ?
2. it is no ceiling on temperature
3. we don't have plan on spark-free board

I plan to run it at a max voltage of 99.6v. Is the hardware capable of handling that ? Is the software limited ?

Hi,

i've just started playing with my logger (firmware 2.2) and wanted to syncronize the logs to the phone to check them on the PC later
(the way the logger is mounted it's difficult for me to get at the USB port)
but, the transferring is taking ages!
there is one log on it now of about 15minutes, and it has been transferring for half an hour now and still isn't finished..

Is it supposed to take this long?
Has anyone else experienced this?

Some kind of % data transferred bar in the display would be nice to se how far along I am in the data transferring.

Otherwise super product!
love the app to!

Hi Christian,

I think the log somehow damaged, nothing you can do now please connect speedict ebike to pc with pc suite to erase the logs inside, then please simply record few minutes data and see if you still need long time to sync to android device, orherwise you have to send it back for replacement because data flash component may damage.

Just downloaded the logs to the PC with USB no problems.
-but there was one log on it of ~8H, I had forgotten to turn it off....
Maybe that's why it was takning so long...

erased the logs on the logger and will try a new run soon.

thanks for the quick reply as always!

Is it possible to use gps with maps that I have installed on the android phone rather than having to use google maps on line? I use Pay as U go phone and data transfer costs money when I already have maps on the Phone SD card. The gps works on the phone but unless I connect to data I can’t see any maps.

yes we have offline map request and it is on our enhancement list but don't have solid schedule on it ! when on route plan feature we will likely to have offline map ...

I'm on windows 7 and I'm trying to get the device recognized.

I unzipped Speedict PC suite, saved the driver folder to the desktop and "Update driver software".

Then I browsed on the driver software to update it:

But after that it doesn't recognized the driver:

Any idea how to solve it?
