Yeah, the box is free, mailing it you pay. It's cool though, you don't have to schlepp down to get it.

This thread reminds me of green chile. Living at the source, you always run into another at UPS, also shipping chile to somebody desperate for a real fix. I've mailed a lot of cans, and bags of it fresh to those only a few states away.

This weeks super market circular for Stop and Shop has Twinkies buy one get one free so I had a look, and there were "New" genuine "imitation chocolate flavor" filling Twinkies by the box on the shelf. After reading the saturated fat content, etc they remained on the shelf. But I admit to really wanting them.

Right I need to apologise for being a pita but I was in a bit of turmoil over if i could afford the postage, its like 5 gallons of gas, and then a friend messaged me and asked what it was i wanted ''them funny chocolate things'' so i said twinkys and he said ''yes how many do you want, someone here (he's hospital staff) is off to america and will get them'' so as you can see, 5 gals of gas in postage or free, I have to choose free really

Sorry for the messing about, its just one of those coincidences that life throws at you and i do feel like a right <insert whatever suits>

is there anything in the UK that is hard to find over there?
(although we cant do genuine rowntrees products anymore, the factory has been bulldozed)(except for kitkat, but it wil be going soon as production shifts to poland) and Terrys (of the famous chocolate orange) is being turned into apartments...

Have mercy, please, you gotta stop talking about this stuff. Not only are there a pile of boxes at the grocery store ON SALE, many twinkies for $3; but I LOVE coconut, too.

So I was at the Rolfer yesterday, trying to get the use of my shoulder and leg back, asking him if he thought I might have an unusual tendency for inflammation. He got a look on his face and said: 'I think you actually have an unusual tendency to keep going when others would already be crying out in agony, making all this inflammation inevitable."

Considering what I can do to myself running, carrying heavy objects, riding bikes near vertically, imagine what I could do sitting around with a few boxes of Twinkies. You just don't know how lucky I am that they don't just put the coconut on twinkies. Relatively inactive lately, out of the blue I ran the nearly a mile back to my truck last week before the leg was ready and really sent it off the deepend. I'm fat enough from all the inactivity. Don't remind me about Twinkies.

No the shipping was really steep to get it across the pond.

...So... I have two boxes still, ... Well almost two boxes! One box is minus one wee little Twinkie! Oh the joy of my boyhood memories rekindled! My willpower is diminishing, the Twinkies are over 1000 miles away from me right now, and I can still hear them calling! The flavor from that open box is waffing into the air! ~~~ waft ~~~ waft ~~~waft

I'm going to sugar up 19 kids this Sunday with them if no one wants real, genuine, USA born Twinkies, personally autographed by the one and only bigMoose!

So now Hostess, the people who made all this possible, is saying that they might not survive their bankruptcy. Dang, what would this do to the twinkie, the dingdong/hoho, the Hostess cupcake? (NOOOOOOO, NOT the Hostess cupcake!)

They have bakeries everywhere, so layoffs would hit about every state. Did you know they're UNION?

I think you have the better one Gaston! The Vachon brownies look very tempting... double chocolate, triple fudge... etc. It even looks like Vachon puts real walnuts on the top. Hostess was never that sophisticated here in the states, if they couldn't extrude the product, they didn't "manufacture" it! The Vachon cupcake does have that Hostess Cupcake swirl with the white frosting however. Wonder if they trademarked the swirl?

EDIT: I just returned home from a place far, far away, and now there are TWO Strawberries, ahhhh, I mean Twinkies missing! Now who did it? This will not go over well! I will not rest till my strawberries/Twinkies are returned. Now no body (or buddy) better start thinking about throwing my Palm Tree overboard....

Darn, my own twinkie gun that worked just like caulking. Seems almost fitting they be made that way.

Even as a nondrinker, I can see what's really called for here is 'Smokey and the Bandit' quotes, such as with the themesong:
". . . .Cause they're thirsty in Atlanta,
and there's beer in Texarkana. . . ."

"Strawberries" is 'Caine Mutiny.'

Why can't Twinkies be made anymore?

So they're going to take their ball home with them?

Just let someone else make them with the name and take a royalty.

Both my Grandma/Grandpa worked and retired from Hostess bakeries in the 60's-70's. When we visited they always had a huge box of reject product, Twinkies, CupCakes, SnoBalls, etc. waiting on the back porch for us kids. Other times we would get a tour of the bakery and watch Wonder Bread moving along the line....

On that note, kinda sad news today.

Yes, yes they were!

On a side note, I have 3 boxes of Genuine Twinkies, 2 unopened, one minus a twinkie available for $999.99 US each! HA, Ha, ha... or should it be HO, Ho, ho?

A kilobuck a twinkie! Whooppee!! Stored right next to my Freon 12, and 100 Watt incandescent light bulb stash!

EDIT: BTW that was a joke above! Here on eBay some twinkies and cup cakes sold for $5,000.00 US! What are these people smoking?

If Grupo Beano or however you spell it buys out Hostess, they'll take up where they left off. If Hostess goes down, someone has to take it up, it's not like Hostess would be there to stop them. Grupo Beano has tried for 12 years, what makes you think they'll suddenly succeed now?

bigMoose,
you need to look at your open stash a little more optomisticly.....give the 1st one for free & get em hooked......then you can own their souls

on a more serious note......I will mis the fruit pies most of all. I once got out of an government class for improvising a song about the virtues of the hostess furit pies, performed whlile handing out my personal stash of blueberry & apple pies to the select few in the class.... they cost me 45 cents each back then!
