Hi to all,

I just started to play with my recently purchased Speedict, and i'm quite happy about the product and the support provided by Danny, thanks !

A quick question about the speedo connection, the Magic Pie 3 provides a connector for a 'speedometer display'
see below
Image

Could this be hooked to the speedict speedo connection in some way to replace the magnet ?
I have no idea what kind of signal is getting this plug, any Magic Pie expert advice ?

Thanks !

if the speedometer connector provide on / off type signal, you can hook it up to speedict's port 1 because speedict port 1 just simply measure on / off signal !

I tried the governor setting with speedict. I tried different maximum speed and power but it doesn't do anything on my bike.

I limited to 25kph and 700W but I can still go over 40 kph and 2000W. How do I use this governor thing?

Thanks

can you send us your port status log ?

with both firmware and android client is 2.4 you have feature called "Port Status" under option menu.

1. go to port status page, you can see all of your 4 ports' status, press the menu button and select "record", then press the start record button, throttle up and see if speedict ebike govern your speed to 40 kph, and after that stop and send the log to us !

cheers,

I also just tried the throttle mode.

It works but it's not smooth at all. I have small "acceleration bump" every second.

Also, is it normal to have a small delay between the moment I move the throttle and the moment the motor moves? The motor runs immediately without the throttle mode.

Thanks :)

since it's involved some parameter such as soft-start value, could you please either send me your logs or post it here together with your comments therefore we can examine it and see if it's caused by setup parameters ...

Ok, going to do that.

Do you know what's a good value for soft start and speed gain in order to have immediat start (without delay) and not having "bumpy" acceleration?

hi cwah,

i think the main reason was the mode you used, according to your log, the function mode you selected was "Multi-Sense", with this mode speedict ebike can't govern speed (without throttle output cable function) ...

on unit setting, you use Celsius for temperature and KM/H for speed
on function mode, you selected Multi-sense
on governor setting, you set with following parameters

speed = 10 km/h
voltage set to 70v
current set to 10A
temperature set to 70c
watt set to 50w

so please focus on road legal 2 mode at this moment with both cables connected, and you can try with different speed throttle, current throttle, governor settings ... whenever you like just send us you logs for examinations because it can improve our software and we can know more about customers' practice ...

cheers,

danny

Thanks.

I tried to set to road legal 2 but it's asking me the number of magnet on my PAS sensor disc. I don't have any pedal sensor for now. How could I manage that?

if you don't has pas installed you can leave it by default value, and don't connect any sensor to port 3 because port 3 is for pas sensor for road legal 2 mode, just want you focus on road legal 2 mode first to let you take a look of how governor and throttle mode works.

I think I melted the speedict. I was at 79,4V and when I connected the speedict to the battery and the controller there was a spark.

No more light anymore now... :(

Thanks Danny,

To what address should I send back the speedict?

Also, is it because of the voltage 79.4V is too close to the max voltage that it melted? Is there anything I can do to make sure it won't happen again?

Thanks a lot

for such high voltage source better install switch before speedict ebike is recommend, spark can kill :(
most controller use voltage divider before voltage regulate ic therefore spark may not kill ...

i will PM you the return address

No, I don't know any.

If you have any link to any shop to do that, that would be great. :)

Hi all,

I've recently purchased a speedict, I love the product but i'm missing a mode on it
in my Country the max speed limit on public roads for pedelec bikes is 25km/h, the max power is 250 watt (i know there is a mode for that)
but when I get on private property I would like to set my bike from pedelec to e-bike with 2000watt but that is a problem...

when I originally ordered my speedict I thought it was possible to easely change those settings using my phone but I've found out that I have to switch some wires on my speedict

with just having a throttle out, throttle in, pas in, speed sensor => so going from throttle only (full power) mode to a road legal mode (pas only, 250watt 25km/h) without switching ports but only a few screentaps on an android device would be a awesome!!!!

I think a lot of people in the Netherlands, Belgium would be intrested ;)

Thanks for listening,

Kind regards Niels

hi niels,

if you want to disable governor or speed throttle mode in road legal 2 mode, you don't need to switch port, all you need to do change setting via android :

1. disable throttle mode, if your setting is speed throttle
2. disable governor or reset your speed govern to say 100km

see if it can help !

cheers,

danny
