Meanwell 36V 350W NES power supply - SOLD

Postby neptronix » Sun Apr 29, 2012 4:06 pm

Meanwell 36V 350w NES power supply.
Tried to modify it for a lower constant current, but failed. Shunt mod did not work. Resistor mod did not work either.

Original shunt replaced with custom length of copper.
Fan mod permanently enabled.
Mounting for 4x fans cut into the case.

110V AC cord at the end of the AC end, and 4mm bullets and the end of the DC end.

Image

Works fine. Just outputs 12A rather than the 9.7A promised, so it will burn up if used as a battery charger.
Adjusts to 30-41V.

If you want a power supply or another meanwell to hook in series with one that *can* be adjusted for a lower limit.. you can have this for $20 plus shipping.

Ships from Colorado, USA

The all-arounder: 8T MAC motor on a Trek 4500.
The girlfriend bike: 350W front MAC on a 700c Trek.
The wheelie machine: 20" Rear Magic Pie II on a Trek 4300 MTB
The Bus: ??? on a 'da bomb' cargo bike frame

Pro-tips for noobs: Avoid BMS Battery like the plague | Charge RC Lipos to 4.15v, stop discharging at 3.5-3.6v | Use torque plates/arms! | Rear mounted hubs are always best

BUMP - price dropped to $15 plus shipping.

I guarantee it works, or your money back.
It is currently in a working state.

I wonder what you promised the rodent that did the gnawing for you

Are you selling it because it's the NES model (where the mods apparently don't work)?

There were 4 fans sitting on top. I was trying to make a badass forced induction meanwell but it didn't pan out.
Yeah i know it looks like outsider art. That's the main reason for the low price.
That and i spent around 10 hours trying to get it to current limit :)

So it's a 36v/9.7a power supply, no more, no less.. hook it in series with another current limiting power supply for a bump in voltage, or use it for whatever you'd use any 36v supply for.

Hey, I could see this working for a higher voltage cheap diy spot-welder. Do you have any idea how long it can cope with the overloaded current? Meaning, like '10 seconds on, 10 seconds off" Would that be reasonable? Or is 10 seconds too long?

Any idea what shipping to 01940 would be?
