Looking for rain canopy for Rans stratus xp recumbent

I have a Rans Stratus XP and my wife has a Catrike Villager and I am waiting on parts to put an eZee hubmotor and LiMnCo Battery from BMSbattery on my Stratus.I live on Whidbey island just NE of Seattle and I intend to commute 25 miles to work 2 times a week and I would like to do it in Winter if I can get a good setup with a canopy. I am afraid that if I don't have a way of staying dry I will not ride when inclement weather and maybe I can do it with very good raingear. REI has big sale coming up this week.

I am looking for suggestions about how to stay somewhat comfy? I found this website in England...http://www.veltop.eu/fr/veltop-classic-119.html...I don't know that they have a top that will fit my recumbent.

Maybe the Veltop "Comfort" might be able to work, but a 25 mile ride in poor conditions is not going to be very pleasant regardless of what you do short of a velomobile. I think one of those Hase trikes with the sock around it would be a good option in that scenario. I thikn member "Rassy" here has a Veltop on his trike, but I don't know anyone here that has used one on a two wheel bike. Side winds are going to be an issue though for sure.

"Lightfootcycles" have a few practical designs they sell, and the company is in Montana. However you can make your own if you are resaursfull and have friends in the right places.

We made ours for a chrome tank covers that were 6 feet long and had to open 6 times a day, lasted for years. They are esentially made from light pipes bent the way you like with sewn rip-stop nylon cloth. Ours worked excelent for 12 years, good luck.
