Crystalyte Controller Configuration

Hi ES geeks,

I plan to buy the new (not sure how new is new nowadays) Crystalyte 48-72V 45A controllers, but was wondering how it can be configured to run on 48V let's say?

I know they also sell those APM displays which are way too expensive, but they can be used to control the controller. Is there another way to do it? I suppose CA or Speedict could be used for the control too, but then how do I set the controller to be 72V and 45A, so I can have the full control over it via CA or Speedict?

The Crystalyte controllers can come with leads either for APM or CA but not both as far as I'm aware.

Where are you thinking of getting the 72V 45A controller from? I've only seen them for sale at Crystalyte Europe:

Yes, that's correct. I am based in the UK, so I might just get them from Crystalyte-Europe together with the Crystalyte hub motor.

In general any controller would work for me as long as it can do 48V and 30-40A and it has to be sensorless and brushless. Any better ideas?

Methods is selling New 72V Crystalyte Sensorless Controllers for $ 100.00 US. I bought one a few months ago works great and has a "real" CA connector

Great stuff. I ordered one to be shipped to UK. The total price was £75 including shipping. That's a total bargain, I was going to pay around £180 if I bought from crystalyte-europe.

I just hope that I will be able to connect the controller to Speedict and be able to configure it to my needs.

Being a geek, I just like the Speedict idea way too much, so as good as the CA is truly is I am still going to go for the Speedict option.
