Monster 24-fet price lowered to $400

Postby Farfle » Sat Apr 28, 2012 5:23 pm

Hello all, after trading to a Sevcon Gen4, I have not found a use for the Steveo-built 24 fet controller I ran on this years race bike, instead of letting it gather dust, or running on a bike that will never use it to its potential. I'm going to let somebody else run this monster. Right now it's tuned for 250A batt, and 400 amp motor. It's wired with Turnigy 8awg phase and double 10awg battery , it has 200v caps, aswell as four ultra low ESR poly caps on the trace side. Its programmable, and has all the features and then some: reverse, cruise control, regen, even over temp protection that shuts off the controller. It does have a few things that need to be done. First, it has no hall sensor connector, second the on/off button is on the Fritz (standard radioshack push button) I got it for 500 US, asking 450 plus ship. Here are a few pictures:

(Blue is Sevcon, Red is infineon, it's putting out 16 horsepower!)

Shoot me a Pm with your address so that I can get a quote, I can tell you that this controller and a cromotor is not going to disappoint. You can PM zombiess if you have any doubts about what a cromotor will do on 420 phaase amps

Lol.. you are a frigging savage - clean all that flux off!
Then you can conformal coat it ---> mmmmmmmm.... silicone conformal coating..... mmmmmmmmmm
Where is the build thread for that? What the hell are those strung across the rails - caps? Where have I been and why dont I own one of these?

I could probably use this - but the price is a bit high. I would rather buy it cheaper and do the work myself.
Wonder if I have anything in my bag of tricks to use as a partial trade? I just got in an HS3540 26" that is basically new with a scratch in the paint. I could devalue that significantly as a partial trade. I have some CA's, torque arms, parallel boards... goodies.

I have a Cro Motor laced into 20" and all I have to run it with is a lazy old 12fet 70A. I have access to an 18fet 100A but it is ugly and I don't love it anymore. I want some fresh meat.

This meat looks a little sketchy I must say...
But that is my favorite kind.
Strange meat. :o

So it made more torque then a sevcon? weird.... Is it possible the sevcon can be adjusted to gain that back?
Thanks Justin of http://www.ebikes.ca/

IIRC the sevcon was limited to like 180 phase continuous, and 260 phase burst. the infineon has no fracking idea whats going on, so it just let's it flow like a US printing press.

I am putting this controller back up for sale.
I improved upon it quiet a bit - some pictures are posted here:

http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=40285&hilit=dyno&start=60#p614521

Image

I also cleaned up some of the wiring to make it compatible with my Ebikes.ca stuff - so it has a 5pin JST-SM hall cable that is about 1Meter long.

I personally tested this controller on the dyno and just hammered it at 300 phase amps and 150 amps DC - it is indestructible.
I will be selling my very similar controller for $420, so I am setting the price on this at $350
It is programmed to 300 phase amps and 150A DC - max voltage is 24S Lipo
