Hi Danny,

Thank you for the fast answer!

I've solved my problem in a more "simple" way lol, I jut hooked my speedict up to the ebrake input of my controller,
I can switch between throttle / pas sensor, set up the current on my controllers display (crystalite APM) and use the ebrake output of the speedict as a speed limiter when the cops show up (bike is set up with pas and 250watts on public roads but not speed limited), I think it is a lot safer that way.... my bike drove away without me on it when I was fiddling with settings in road legal mode  (I blame the crystalite throttle), that changed my mind to use the "simply cut" mode  it drives ridiculous but it works

I do have another few "suggestions":

the android speedict app switches bluetooth on/off when changing settings, during synchronizing etc.... It's really annoying sometimes as it disables bluetooth when it needs to be enabled (I have it enabled all the time on my phone and I have to switch it back on after I exit the Speedict app) so an option to disable bluetooth override would be massive!

battery saving option:
-possible to dim the screen during liveview, maybe a night mode (black on grey insead of black on white liveview or adjustable colors) like a lot of GPS devices have,

-screen always on option instead of a default setting + for safety reasons => don't get blinded by the bright display of the smartphone at night (i know some phones have a lightsensor but still......)

-the usage of GPS...
please make it possible to switch it on or off, it uses unnecessary battery life of the phone => sometimes you just want to log some system data instead of the route

Thanks for reading!

Kind regards Niels

yes you are smart ! what is mean by "i can switch between throttle/pas sensor" ?
so you used "simply cut" mode and set speed limit on governor setting ?

on function mode settings whenever we need to update new settings we have to reset MCU so bluetooth connections will also be reset :(
"during synchronizing etc.... It's really annoying sometimes as it disables bluetooth when it needs to be enabled" i don't get it, can you explain ?

dim the screen, do you mean we control the brightness of display ?

the liveview or multi-screen liveview screen are always on now, do you want an option to let it sleep ?

3nslav3 wrote:-the usage of GPS...

yes we can add an option for on/off ...

Thanks for reading!

in my case: Bluetooth doesn't always get re-enabled during synchronizing etc => I have to leave the program to turn bluetooth back on so the program can reconnect to the speedict

speedict wrote:dim the screen, do you mean we control the brightness of display ?

no, i mean that the black/ white liveview can be hard for the human eyes at night (people might go blind while driving at night)

suggestion => a softer/ darker color instead of the bright white for night usage
suggestion => let the screen backlight go very dim
suggestion => adjustable fontcolor in liveview

speedict wrote:the liveview or multi-screen liveview screen are always on now, do you want an option to let it sleep ?

yes! to save batterie

I'd love to see adjustable font colour too! That would be way cool!

I personally don't have the bluetooth issue, but then I leave mine off most of the time to avoid hacks. Having the ebike app activate it and deactivate it as needed works great for me!

Woohoo!!!! Thank you very much!!! :D

about my "bluetooth problem" : after some testing I noticed that it doesn't happen during normal use (liveview etc)
it's mostly caused by loosing connection with my phone so it's not a big problem, I think that the problem is my phone and not the speedict so sorry for that

yes sometime it is related to phone's rom version or bugs!

to identify whether speedict ebike's bluetooth module problem or phone's rom / bugs issues, do the following test can tell.

1. first, try to get a Bluetooth earpiece and see if you can pair with it, this test can tell if your phone can pair with other bluetooh device, because we did the same way.

2. then try to pair with another Bluetooth phone, pair, send and receive file, this test can tell if your phone's rom is allowed.

Hi Danny,

I was wondering if it would be possible to implement a "battery gauge" function in the next release. The user could input the min. and max. voltage of his battery pack and the function could return the percentage that's left on the display screen. You could also add a battery type parameter to make it more universal.

Is such a function possible on the speedict next firmware release ?

we have planning such as point and click on google map to select start and end route, speedict ebike calculate and monitor while on the trip, including battery gauge, route plan etc, route save ...

for battery gauge feature alone without maps / route is much easier, so let discuss it, would you have any good idea or request on it please don't hesitate to discuss !

Would be cool to have an option for a percentage remaining guage in live view, or maybe a bar that reduces as battery is depleted.

On a seperate note, is anybody else finding the gps speed to be miles off? Using various speedo apps, the top speed for my trike is 42mph (verified using 2 other gps devices). But in the speedict software its totally off. I was trying to calibrate the speed sensor so I put sensor speed and gps speed on live view, and went for a ride. Sensor was about 3-4mph off the speed listed by my other gps devices and the speedo apps, but the gps speed in the software was consistently less than half the sensor speed!

What gives?

hi 3nslav3 and xnda2260,

can you help to check with your logs ? download your logs to PC and use PC suite to check both GPS and Speed sensor speed to see the different, i would like to make sure that the problem is whether on the GPS reception or incorrect live view display !

I'll try to test as soon as possible but I think you are right as usual mr Speedict

my speedmeter got broken (keeps sending an "ON" signal) so I think the reedswitch inside is messed up, looking for a replacement as we speak

Hi Danny,
Can we conclude that your company will lunch an ebike controller that has a speedict in it ?
Also, will the function of a battery gauge on the display screen be on the next firmware relase ?
Thanks

Just a post to tell that I'm very happy with Speedict service.

I had my Speedict that failed because I was pluggin the speedict without spark protection. I had advice from them and they send me back a new speedict.

Great service. I haven't say that to many sellers.. but I have to say thanks I think we can trust Speedict :)

Postby carfreemaine » Fri Jun 15, 2012 7:13 pm

Greetings,
I recently purchased a Speedict Sensor to use with my foldable E-Bike project
http://humblehackers.wikispaces.com/The+Flying+Yankee-+A+DIY%2C+Foldable+E-Bike%21
Originally, I was hoping to build a DIY version using an Arduino, but the more I researched the Speedict product, the more I've been blown away by everything it can (and will) do!
I just got my sensor in the mail today and I intend to use it with my Android Nexus S to display Battery power, Speed info etc and log the data for research purposes. I have a 20Inch 500-750Watt Front Hub Direct Drive SLA Kit from AmpedBikes so the inputs use Anderson Connectors for easy "Plug and Play" use. I am relatively comfortable with soldering, but would rather not break up the connectors as they are now. Is there a recommended configuration for use with Anderson connectors? One that doesn't necessarily involve cutting them up?

Thank You for an Incredible Product!
