    Unbalanced

The first model uses capacitors and is probably the better choice. LFP in the datasheet refers to LiFePo4. The other two, I'm not sure about.

A couple of questions about wiring a 2WD setup and replacing LM317 with XL7015 in controllers

I'll take that as a compliment :-D By the way, I have the same legal restrictions as you, but try to stay under the radar. My commute consists of small rural roads and I do my best to ride in a sensible way and pay attention to others. I have battery and controller mounted inside a triangle...

A couple of questions about wiring a 2WD setup and replacing LM317 with XL7015 in controllers

I think it said 70 volts in the listing and the caps say 100 volt, but either in plenty for a 13S battery. Still going to test it, because I've had too many capacitors on cheap DC converters blow up under load. But it will be nice to get rid of the extra heat the LM317 produces inside the...

A couple of questions about wiring a 2WD setup and replacing LM317 with XL7015 in controllers

scaniac: I'm not putting a throttle on it, just setting the front motor to lower current than the rear motor. Traction control would be really cool to have, though. amberwolf: Sounds good. The buck converter should handle up to 70 or 100 volts, but you make a good point about counterfeit and...

Are there different KT display lead standards?

I don´t know if I would call it standards, because various brands use a lot of different connectors and pinouts. The one on your new controller matches all the KT controllers I brought from new. But counting in the controllers I have, that where already on bikes, I've seen at least 4 different...

Can I daisy chain battery blenders?

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, but each battery blender looses a bit of energy through resistance in a MOSFET or voltage drop over a diode, depending on internal construction. I also don't think it will be necessary to use three of them, just two, connecting each battery, and the...

A couple of questions about wiring a 2WD setup and replacing LM317 with XL7015 in controllers

Thanks. I've tried to find as much information as possible, and just want to make sure I connect everything up correctly. Most posts about this doesn't go into that much detail, but overall the way I want to do it, is pretty much how most other similar 2WD setups are build, if they aren't just...

A couple of questions about wiring a 2WD setup and replacing LM317 with XL7015 in controllers

I want to try making a 2WD ebike with a geared hub on the front and a direct drive hub on the rear. Mainly to get regenerative breaking, maybe a bit more top speed, and still be able to go uphill. Both motors are unknown brands, brought second hand. My plan is to have two KT36/48 9 amp...

KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW)

I have not actually tried riding the bike yet, only confirmed the motor spins. I have to make all the wires look nice and clean and reassemble it before I want to do that. But I do hope I can make it work, because I have 3 of these controllers, and one that's the same, but with 9 FETs, and want...

KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW)

Well, that was what I was thinking. I have some experience with the STM32 bluepill boards, that often use STM32 clones or semi defective chips, and have some weird quirks. I guess that lead me to believe the answer would be something related to that. But, but, but, the real reason why it didn't...

KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW)

Thanks amberwolf. I don't see any signals on the gate pins. All six stay at 0 volts, measured against battery negative, when I try walk assist or stick some 1k resistors in the throttle connector to simulate a throttle. The hall sensors sends out signals when I spin the motor backwards, and the...

KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW)

So, I have spend a day trying to get this to work, but with no success. I have a KT36/48SVPRD-ffF10L controller, PCB is marked as KT-6S5-C 2018-1-8, fresh from AliExpress, didn't even test it out before flashing it :-/ It seems to be a standard S06S controller, where the only visible difference...

How much over-wattage can one usually get away with putting into geared hubs?

Thanks. That is really useful information. Luckily, it's pretty flat where I live. I'm currently waiting for a second controller, and want to try out the opensource firmware on that. That will give me even better control over how much power is delivered at each pas level.

How much over-wattage can one usually get away with putting into geared hubs?

I just read through the sticky thread about that, and yes, it certainly seems like a good idea. It seems getting the sensor in there is the easy part, and getting the wires out of the motor is much more challenging.

How much over-wattage can one usually get away with putting into geared hubs?

I have 2 converted MTB's, both have 250 watt rear geared hub motors. Neither of the hub motors have any useful information written on the, except 36v 250w and some numbers that don't give any google results. All I know is they are about the same size as all the other 250 watt motors, commonly...
