    torque arm picture thread

One issue that I have been running into with my clamping torque arms (made a few years ago) is that my fitment was a little bit off so when I cranked the bolt down it bent the torque arm a bit and when I loosened it the metal didn't rebound far enough to easily to get the wheel back out. For my...

How about a 3D printer section?

Might want to check on the allowable print time at the library, I can't exactly remember how many hours were allowed at my library but sometime between 1 and 3 hours max.

    Shinko SR241 2.75"x19" and 2.25"x19" - Kingston Ontario Canada - No shipping

Hi All, Figured I would post this tire here first before trying to sell it on Kijiji, BUT looking for a local buyer as it seems silly to ship a big chunky tire around Canada or the world, for $50.... So if you are close to Kingston Ontario and are interested to meet up then send me a message...

    Motor crystallite HT3525 braking

Glad you were able to find the issue. 1) When you disconnected the cables and made sure there was no short at that location there was still resistance? and then it started spinning again? That seems strange, was the motor partially seized due to frozen water in the hub? or could there be a bad...

    Motor crystallite HT3525 braking

No problem, well unfortunately it sounds like one of the mosfets is burnt out in the controller, OR, you have a short in the wires on the controller side. The link I had provided has instructions on checking out the controller mosfets. 2 options - Option 1 - open the controller (after...

    Motor crystallite HT3525 braking

The motor resistance is most likely caused by shorted phase wires, try unplugging the controller and give the wheel a spin by hand if it spins, the controller most likely has a blown Mosfet, or you have a problem with your wiring to the controller. If it doesn't spin with the controller...

    The Downspout E-bike Battery Case

Great, I have a long list of items to 3d print, and have also added your end caps onto this list. :) Will look a lot better than my handy man special being a piece of umbrella fabric with a couple zip ties holding it in place. It really was a temporary measure as there was a potential for...

    The Downspout E-bike Battery Case

Thanks! I was able to fit 4 - Turnigy 6s 5.8 ah packs, 3 in the long down spout and 1 pack piggy backing on the main pack. I had 4 latches 2 per side which allowed me to take the pack off pretty quick in the event something started smoking. Sorry for hijacking the tread :)

    The Downspout E-bike Battery Case

Looks pretty slick, I have been running the same style downspout along the bottom of the frame (from head set to bottom bracket), it has held up quite well (not huge km's like some on here but 3000 km is a good shake down test). I have mine strapped to an aluminum bracket with all-around in a...

JZ36V Nine Continent - Pole Pairs and Model

Well I got some spare time and pulled the motor apart - 46 magnets - so 23 poles. On 36.5 volts with the wheel off the ground I was getting around 48 km/h. I ran a few different 9c motors listed on the Grin motor simulator and found the 2805 seems to line up the best.

JZ36V Nine Continent - Pole Pairs and Model

Hi Everyone, I have pulled out an old hub motor from storage and was wondering if someone could confirm the model and pole pairs. It's a front hub motor with JZ36V-500W091218082, from what I could find it is likely 23 pole pairs, but not sure what model it is to determine the RPM/V Thanks...

Replaced Lyen with Grin controller now runs backwards

If the wheel runs smoothly with around 2 amps draw with the wheel off the ground, then look at the controller manual, most have a jumper in the wiring harness to change the wheel direction, if it is the phase runner / base runner then you can use the software suite to change direction.
