It's not just the headtube diameter. Usually they snap at the downtube junction. Think about it.

Triple clamps on a XC frame is asking for trouble.. It's prob rated to a 120mm-max single crown fork.

You should try the BBS02 on a different bike before selling the D8. Chances are you won't like the former..

I've used a case-hardened steel rod. Might still have some left.. Will have a look.
