So I bought a lathe...and made Hub Motors

Is the stator easily removed from the truck or have you epoxied it on? Reason I ask is that I want to be able to rewind the motors to get custom KV and run it with a 12s battery... Otherwise, can you supply the bits, not assembled, so I can rewind the motor first before I assemble it?

Electric Outboard for inflatable (hub motor - open design)

Your boat hull is extremely inefficient. If you put your same motor on something similar to an Olympic rowing she'll, your speed could be triple, for the same electrical energy...

    Best motor?

80km/h is certainly doable - if your game. But yes, it demands alot from all this small equipment and there will be frequent failures if you use cheap RC components. One guy has already gone beyond 88km/h using a single castle 2028 motor and mamba ESC. Hes destroyed alot of gear in the process...

    Best motor?

The amount of current in any circuit is always determined by the load. It gets complicated because motors are inductive - so you cant just look at the winding resistance and say current=volts/resistance as ohms law states. Inductive loads, such as motors, have inductive reactance which produces...

    Best motor?

The picture was of my first attempt - it has 5 turns using twin strands 0.67mm wire. it was a bit of an experiment to see how fast it would go. This was a mistake as i needed 6 turns to get my 380kV and the copper fill was not enough. The result was the board had too much gearing - (as it was...

    Best motor?

Guys, ive been rewinding my RC motors lately. Its a peice of cake. This way you can make your motor whatever kV you like depending on your application and the benefits of doing so means you get a top quality hand wound motor which runs extremely cool and wont burn out. It all started off by me...

VESC Open Source - Android App Features?!?!

Im a bit of a latecomer to this website, but im glad ive finally found it :) As to this VESC - there seems to be alot of focus on the program-ability and connectivity of this esc but not much attention has been given to the basic physical problem of keeping it cool. All the functionality in the...

FVT Settings and cogging issues - Fixed, solutions & stuff.

Did you specifically tell them it was for a skateboard? The one i have came out of a production skateboard, so they may not release it to anyone else and breach the customer agreements etc. Also, this program is not editable. They have locked me out from modifying it using the handheld card...

FVT Settings and cogging issues - Fixed, solutions & stuff.

I have tried one of the FVT escs on my skateboard, I found its settings to be unsuited to electric vehicles as the loading is higher and the acceleration curves are too steep. So the esc trips out on over current if your too quick with the throttle. I have another unit which got a special custom...
