Converting a beach cruiser with front wheel motor.

I am working on a similar build using a 3g Newport deluxe cruiser with the 3speed rear hub and coaster brakes. I initially went with a 1000w front hub motor and it was way too heavy. I’m not sure why, but these bikes handle very poorly with that much weight in the front wheel. I’m giving that...

    Vespa style electric scooter

“Easy” would be fabricating parts with a bandsaw and a welder. Machining parts is outside of my skill set. Ideally, what I would like to find is something that looks like a Vespa, is already electric but may need a few upgrades. I’d like it to be equivalent to a 50cc scooter in terms of speed...

    Vespa style electric scooter

Is there an electric Vespa style scooter that’s any good? Or an easy model to convert to electric? The Vespa electricca is out of our price range.

    3G Bikes Cruiser build plan

I really didn't like the front hub motor and the "scooter" feel that the setup above provided, at least for this bike. 1000w was simply too much for a cruiser and there was too much weight on the front wheel. It would do 28-30mph without me pedaling. It really didn't feel stable and the...

    Tsdz2 and 850c error code

I drained the battery down to 51v and the beast started working! Now I can get back to making this thing look like a professional install instead of some hacked together mess. :)

    Tsdz2 and 850c error code

There are two stickers on the charger, one says 48v and the other says 58.8 volts. I’m still trying to discharge this battery to a reasonable voltage. Trying to discharge it at a real slow rate to minimize any damage to it. I hope that the controller is just restricting the motor due to the...

    Tsdz2 and 850c error code

Confirmed the voltage. The charger has 48v on the front and 58.8v on the back. The fact that the battery pack actually got to 58v probably indicates that there is no decent BMS in the pack. I’ve got a soldering iron plugged into it to discharge the pack.

    Tsdz2 and 850c error code

Just installed my tsdz2 motor (with a coaster brake). Plugged everything in and there is no assist offered by the motor. The lcd is displaying my speed correctly, so I assume that the sensor is close enough. While riding I got a 06h error code. That looks like an issue with the throttle, but...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

HRMMMM, now I'm questioning what I will be receiving. Thank you for the info. I wish I would've seen this before I placed an order for this last night...

    Regen braking on KTE-12S5-A

I just received this controller in a kit with a direct drive motor. Is it possible to enable regen braking with this controller? I’ve enabled regen via the C13 parameter but it has no effect. Here’s a photo of the bottom side of the controller. I don’t see any of the typical designations...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

If I’m looking to buy a tsdz2 motor is there a recommended hardware setup that would allow the most freedom when running the open source software? I’d like to have a 750W, 48V mid-drive that will accommodate a rear coaster brake. I’ve seen someone state that one of the 36v versions Converted...

    3G Bikes Cruiser build plan

The kit arrived and I have it installed, temporarily at least. I can’t test this until my battery arrives, hopefully on Saturday. Once I do a few rides and decide if I want to keep FWD, I will put the motor into my original wheel which is wide enough for a 3.45” tire. The bike looks odd...

    3G Bikes Cruiser build plan

Decided on a 48v, 20Ah li-ion soft case pack. A bit pricey, but I figure I won’t normally run out of capacity with that, and if I limit discharge rate, the pack should last a while. I’ll mount it on a rear rack at first, but I would like to make a holder that looks a little more cruiser-like...
