What about increasing the amperage on my Lyen controller instead of changing the voltage? Would that give me a faster top speed, or would it just accelerate faster?
I have a Lyen Mini Monster programmable controller but I don't think it is rated for 96 volts. I bought the batteries about a month ago and they are great. I have them in parallel currently and I've never pushed them too hard. Besides the cutoff voltage for the controller that came with the...
I have two 48 volt 20 amp hour Calibike batteries and was wondering how I could put them in series, but also limit the voltage going to the controller. I know fully charged they reach about 108 volts, but I would like to figure out how to limit them to a 72 volt setup without bypassing the BMS...
My small 250 w hub sensorless hub motor just grinded itself to a halt on Sunday, so now I'm looking for a replacement for my fat tire ebike. I have a Lyen sensorless controller and this motor seems to have a lot of wires coming off of it. Can someone help me decide if this motor would work...
I bought a new frame bag from FalconEV which BTW is an awesome bag, but I put an additional 12 volt battery to run the car horns and motorbike horn in addition to the LED's on the frame, with 3 seperate motorcycle momentary push button switches.

I used my Calibike battery for the first time today. Had to say pretty impressed so far. I did 25 miles in the wind today and it was still at 47 volts when we were done. Not bad for my Fat Tire Ebike. I reprogrammed my Lyen controller for a lower cutoff voltage, since these cells can be...
Thanks for the help. I purchased another of the Calibike batteries and plan to sell my used battery on Ebay. Rafe told me to put the batteries in parallel to make sure they are charged and have the same voltage before putting them in parallel. Now I will have a 48 volt 40 amp hour battery...
I Thought calibike was using LifePo4? That is what my other cells are made of, and to answer the question about my other BMS it was damaged making a wooden frame box and the company that sold me the battery sent me the wrong BMS and told me how to hook it up which ended up killing one of the...
I just recently bought a triangle shaped battery from Calibike.com that came with a BMS installed. It is a 48 volt 13 series 9 parallel made of 18650 cells. My other battery is a 48 volt 15 series 10 parallel also 18650 cells. Is there a way of connecting these two batteries using the 14 pin...
Yes. I even noticed a spike in voltage on my auxillary volt meter when I use the motorcyle horn. I guess if I want a louder horn I'd have to be comfortable with adding more weight. (Second Battery) :(
And all it says on the horns are each are 60db 12 volts one high and one low.
I have been toying around with a dual tone car horn rated at 12 volts. It works great when I hook it up directly to a 12 volt battery, but when I use my DC-DC converter from Edward Lyen the horn will not function. I have tried running fuses from 10-30 amps, but there is no difference. Other...
Sorry all the cells except for 10 in parallel were reading 4.3 volts, the others were 0.0 volts. So I contacted the manufacturer and since I purchased a new BMS and charger they are sending me 10 of the same cells for free. In the time being I have removed the 10 cells and created a jumper...
Hey I was pleased with last month's turnout for Critical Mass and I'm even more excited for the upcoming one since it falls on Halloween. We are doing a costume party as well as decorating our bikes for the ride. Any suggestions of a cool costume are welcome.
