    2WD (Two-Wheel Drive) FAQ

Yes, to incur the abuse of the LEO team, especially when they already have their focus on you is annoying to say the least. Most of my current project plans will no doubt cross the line in their minds. Anyway, did order a pair of kits to experiment with 2WD, regen, and electric braking. Winter...

    Free shipping from Hobbyking today

I took advantage of the shipping deal and ordered another 12 Zippy compact 7S 4000mAh packs for $20/each a very good deal. Delivery this morning, pretty quick, need to pickup another 50cal ammo box now. Have read many of your posts lately, seems you have been at this Ebike thing for a while...

The biggest problem at 25mph+ is rarely discussed resistance

Very glad I read this thread, as it inspired me to pull out the "tour easy clone" have not used it for about 8 years. Did 3 short rides today up in Michigan, sunny day, seems to be a very efficient ride. Now planning to put a DD hub in the back, as I am now sort of into the regen/electric brake...

    Streetglider 1.0

I have seen coroplast fenders before but not a whole enclosure, good job. It would seem you view of traffic would have some serious blind spots, although with the opening behind your head helps some. Good luck with the gearing.

    modified slingshot trike from 1970's

Most unsusual looking ride, lots of ground clearance. Looks good and the epoxy on screen idea is pretty simple approach, have to try that as well. That slingshot bike must be a rare find.

    My Dual Suspension Simple Setup

Good job on your quick build. The ammo style box may detract from the stealth idea though. Sounds like its working good so far, nothing wrong with a simple approach.

    2-speed systems (R-D, dog-clutch or derailleur changing)

Such a broad varity of ideas presented in this thread, it shows that one is willing to go to great lengths to get gearing between the motor and rear wheel. As one living in the flat land hills are pretty small, yet just a 2:1 ratio via derailleur was a plus. On a bicycle a quite gear train is a...

Is it difficult to add linear pull brakes to a bike?

I just weld on brake bosses, Bikestop has them about $1 ea for a bag of 10. Sheldon brown shows a jig design he used, may give you an idea.

Golden Motor Build 48v and Beyond!

That doesn't look like fun. Perfect timing on the camera shot to catch that.

Suitable bike frames for 16" rear wheel

What kind of bikes are out there which use 16-20" rear wheel would be a good choice for rear drive ebike and a 6' tall rider. Links to good candidates would be great, thanks.

    NuVinci no thanks

From what I read they don't like to talk much about specifics on efficiency. I believe they have a forum on their web site if I remember correctly, and don't give numbers when asked directly, what they told you is in line with what I have heard others talking about 10-15% loss.

Dude, this thing needs a hub motor!

I rode to a bike shop 30 miles south of here and did a 5mile test ride on a Catrike and was very much impressed. Stopping, strarting, turning, handling and speed all seemed real good. The only issue I had with it was the tire scrub. On the Schwinn Gladiator, candy apple and the name gladiator...

I don't think my current bike is fast enough

I felt that the 25mph speed was just fine until I started riding with vehicle traffic in commercial areas. I had lots of issues with other drivers, had a 2 liter pop bottle thrown at me because I would not give up the whole lane to a group of 4 kids in a car, they had another lane available but...
