20-30 Cell Smart ANT BMS unable to read one of the cells when standing by.

I do not have a lot of experience with high heat epoxy resin. Used it a couple of times to fix metal objects like a motor oil pan and a muffler. Repair was only temporary though, until I received new parts. The epoxy did hold up for a few weeks. Cannot tell how much longer it would last though...

20-30 Cell Smart ANT BMS unable to read one of the cells when standing by.

In order to avoid welding cells I used 26 pieces of 46160 31Ah li-ion cylindrical cells which are bolted. I chose to go this route to be able to play around with the cells in case problems like the one I am having showed up. Will eventually use some epoxy resin to secure the cells once...

20-30 Cell Smart ANT BMS unable to read one of the cells when standing by.

I think this is the problem, that BMS channel is not working right. The only way I can check this is by replacing the BMS with another one that is in the mail right now. Luckily they are on sale so it is slightly (very slightly) cheaper than I originally paid for it. I’ll report back on how...

20-30 Cell Smart ANT BMS unable to read one of the cells when standing by.

I thought the wire might be problem, but it is not since I replaced it with a new one. The “sensing” wire and crimped terminals show continuity and zero resistance checked with a multimeter. I think the problem is unfortunately in the BMS itself. Debating by myself if I should get another one...

20-30 Cell Smart ANT BMS unable to read one of the cells when standing by.

I did replace the cell but it is still doing the same with cell number 16. I’ll look into the BMS parameters. There might be one that monitors voltage difference between cells and trips the alarm. I’ll also try to charge the battery and balance the cells as much as possible. I sent an enquiry to...

20-30 Cell Smart ANT BMS unable to read one of the cells when standing by.

Battery is all wired to my BMS, but I am getting a “Cell verification error” on cell 16 and alarm beep. This happens only when BMS is turned on and is “standing by”. The error and alarm beep go away when “Auto balance” is enabled or charging is started. The wire connecting the BMS to cell 16 has...

46160 (46mm diameter, 160mm length) NMC chemistry 31Ah 3.7V (4.2V charge cutoff) cells any good?

Finally got around to assembling a working full scale mock-up of the battery using 26 of these 46160 31Ah cells. I connected a 20-30 cell Ant BMS and properly configured it for 26 li-ion cells. Unfortunately I am getting an alarm and “cell verification error” when turning on the BMS. It looks...

46160 (46mm diameter, 160mm length) NMC chemistry 31Ah 3.7V (4.2V charge cutoff) cells any good?

Thank you @amberwolf for the detailed explanation, and for finding that data sheet. I did figure out that vendors on Aliwhatever are not entirely aware of what they are selling, so I am really cautious when it comes to ordering cells. I am very grateful that knowledgeable people like yourself...

46160 (46mm diameter, 160mm length) NMC chemistry 31Ah 3.7V (4.2V charge cutoff) cells any good?

Controller can draw up to 120A, that is what it is programmed to cut off at. However this will seldom, if ever, happen, as I am looking for extended range (low current consumption) as opposed to wide open throttle maximum power. I still have to design the battery box. I will go ahead and draw it...

46160 (46mm diameter, 160mm length) NMC chemistry 31Ah 3.7V (4.2V charge cutoff) cells any good?

Controller is a 96120 Sabvoton SVMC. For the time being, and in order to avoid bad surprises, I left the current cutoff at the 120A factory setting.

46160 (46mm diameter, 160mm length) NMC chemistry 31Ah 3.7V (4.2V charge cutoff) cells any good?

Thank you @floydr for your reply, this is the exact place (Alibaba) where I have inquired for the cells a few days ago. I am interested in the Li-ion NMC chemistry (3.7V, charge cutoff at 4.2V), NOT the LiFePO4 chemistry (3.2V, charge cutoff at 3.7V). Vendors there keep replying with...

46160 (46mm diameter, 160mm length) NMC chemistry 31Ah 3.7V (4.2V charge cutoff) cells any good?

I am from Milan, Italy. Pack is for an e-bicycle. 30 Ah is enough capacity.

46160 (46mm diameter, 160mm length) NMC chemistry 31Ah 3.7V (4.2V charge cutoff) cells any good?

Approx. 400€ for 13 cells. Shipping and customs included. It comes out to approx. 31€ each cell. I need 26 pieces. Too much to comfortably order them without complete and consistent specs.

46160 (46mm diameter, 160mm length) NMC chemistry 31Ah 3.7V (4.2V charge cutoff) cells any good?

I keep running across these cells on AliExpress and AliBaba. They are described as lithium-ion chemistry, but I keep getting inconsistent data sheets from vendors, so I am really worried about ordering them. Did some of you endlessly-smart people experiment with them? Are they worth the...

MQCON app showing funny rpm value

Thank you for your reply, I thought about pole number too, but that is all fine. It is 16 for a QS273 motor. This is correctly identified and set by the hall test the app can perform flawlessly. My CT-22 display is also showing the correct speed and distance traveled, so the controller is giving...
