This will be a great data point to have! I'll be interested to hear about the tradeoffs between the Q100 and the YTW-06. Looking forward to your results. Good stuff on the push button throttles~

Lightweight/discrete Q128c commuter build on a road bike

Hi molybdenum- I use the bike on moderately flat to slightly hilly conditions in and around Seattle. There are a few pretty steep hills on my normal route but they are short and I'm out of the saddle pedaling hard for those. I pedal 100% of the time and usually at or just under my personal...

Carbon Cyclocross Drop Bar Commuter Q100C

Hi ScooterMan101- Regarding phase and Hall connections- I've been lucky. It was a direct color match between the 6FET em3ev controller and the Q100C from BMS Battery. I also had a direct color match between the 6FET em3ev controller and a 260 RPM SWXH from elifebike aka PSWpower. The color...

That's stellar! All up incl the lipo bricks I'm at about 28 lb. Before conversion this bike, even though CF, was over 18 lb- probably some extra beef here and there due to it's cyclocross origin. I'll be interested to hear your experience with the little Xiongda.

I would be worried about the weatherproofness of a traditional slider pot as I am an all seasons rider. Plus they wear as they age and can result in some spotty throttle commands (or so I assume). Been searching for an affordable linear Hall effect potentiometer in the right size.

FWIW I measured the unloaded RPM of my Q100C in the 328 RPM fast wind this morning: Battery voltage (resting)- 49.2v Unloaded RPM- 458 That lines up pretty well with the simulator prediction: I echo molybendum's recommendation for the faster wind motor. I have a hunch you would be...

Carbon Cyclocross Drop Bar Commuter Q100C

Those Deep-Vs are sweet. I almost broke down and ordered a set for this build but that Mavic on the front was too nice to sideline. A well set up rim brake setup with quality hardware is hard to beat. When I swap out onto my friend's ride with Ultegra brakes I'm always a bit startled at how...

Great idea on the 3 button throttle! I'm also seeking a more sophisticated solution. I was originally thinking a single button with a remote mounted thumbwheel to dial in the throttle signal value, but that sounds fiddly and would probably be a PITA on a day to day basis. Are you going with...

Carbon Cyclocross Drop Bar Commuter Q100C

Thanks guys! I appreciate the kudos. I'm very happy with it. I hear you on the Phaserunner. It's definitely on my wish list, both for the bump in technology as well as the form factor. Yes! Trying to spread the word that there is "another way" other than the typical full suspension monster...

Yep those values are good ol MPH. FWIW I was riding "on the hoods" not "in the drops" for those tests, mostly because I can't reach my current throttle in the drops right now, and riding on the hoods is more of a default position. That's very odd regarding the difference in speed. I wonder if...

Lightweight/discrete Q128c commuter build on a road bike

Hmm, that's interesting because I'm seeing much different behavior out of my Q100/6 FET Infineon style controller combo. It is fairly easily able to push me to about 28 mph throttle only. I'm not sure why you were seeing such different behavior. Do you recall what your amp limit was set to...

No problem, glad to help! Sorry to have thrown a little loop with the Q100/Q128 comparo~ I concur at these power levels the Cute is pretty darn quiet and I'm using one of the old school square wave controllers. Just about anything more modern, including the sine wave BMS Battery one should be...

Lightweight/discrete Q128c commuter build on a road bike

Your post inspired me to finally get a summary up of my latest build, a light (<30 lb) drop bar cyclocross bike with a Q100C: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=93328 I yammer on at length there about how the bike's been performing, might be worth a look as it sounds similar...

My latest build, a carbon frame Foundry Harrow with a fast wind Cute Q100C: Backstory After many great miles commuting on my 9C DD mountain bike, I was ready for a change of pace. My ebike experience had actually gotten me started into the world of road cycling and I had been trading off...

    Another Seattle area e-bike rider...

Yeah, I'm not used to owning a nice bike, actually. Def need to recalibrate my prevention measures. What lock style do you use when out & about? U-lock? Biga$$ chain? The chain comes in handy for mad-max style armageddon road rage. My friend would WEAR his NYC chain lock bandolier style...
