Hmm good point, is there a way I could test for that (I have basic tools? I know the channel/wire the cells were connected to. Also seems like a good reason to try the repair with the questionable cells before buying new ones. Thanks!

It's the stock battery that came with the scooter, just a generic 18650 pack with BMS 13s6p. What additional info would you need? Say I did use laptop cells (I cant recall if these extra ones are from a power tool or laptop battery..), would that damage the remaining good cells, or just result...

I have a 48v scooter battery with a dead group of cells (1s6p) rendering the scooter useless. I have a some 18650 cells of forgotten origin that all hold voltage well. I figure its worth a shot to try to use them to fix the battery? Any huge concerns if I use older potentially different capacity...

Lol thanks for setting me straight, I bought a few, I'll just use them as single cell chargers. Guess I'll just do the same thing and expect different results :) (buy lipos,and bulk charge)

I ruined my batteries the same way, never got to 4.5, but they got to 4.3 a couple of times. Some still work but have 50% capacity, and many have dead cells now. If I rebuild the pack I plan to use one of the bmsbattery chargers (http://www.bmsbattery.com/18-alloy-shell) with reliable voltages...

Yeah without a truck to draft behind it maxed out around 42mph assuming favorable conditions though :) That battery is no more thanks to a bad bulk charger :cry: Now that better charging (ecity) options exist I am considering reviving the bike. I have 1 good zippy 5AH pack left, I asked about...
