TSDZ2 on Xtracycle Cargo Bike, Open Source vs Stock Firmware?

Sounds good, redline1, maybe I'll flash mine over the winter. I noticed you're also running an MTX39 rim on the front. I'm running Schwalbe Big Bens front and rear, but didn't need to replace the rear rim as it was already wide enough. The Big Bens plus the long wheelbase makes for a pleasant...

Need 46 tooth chainring for TSDZ2

I need the offset in order to keep the outside plate of the derailleur I'm using from rubbing. With two chainrings, the outer is at 65mm w/o any offset. The Saint SL M805 front derailleur is designed for a chainline of 57.5mm. It can go a bit wider but 65mm is a few mm too far.

Need 46 tooth chainring for TSDZ2

I need a 46 tooth chainring for the TSDZ2 like the one here, with the small offset. Anybody know where to get one or who makes this one? https://www.amazon.com/CHAINRING-CHAIN-TSDZ2-TONGSHENG-MOTOR/dp/B078BCFVPD/

@Bartman, what are your drive train specs?

TSDZ2 on Xtracycle Cargo Bike, Open Source vs Stock Firmware?

Oh, also I'm curious how that Alfine works out for you. I may go to the 11-speed Alfine IGH with a single chainring if I can't get the drive train sorted out to my satisfaction.

TSDZ2 on Xtracycle Cargo Bike, Open Source vs Stock Firmware?

I'm also wondering about flashing the open source firmware. I'm trying to get all the other little issues sorted out first before I do that, though. I bought a used Trek Transport that had sat a while in the NM heat and it seems a lot of drive train parts had gunked up or had gotten a lot of...

    Warren's 350 MAC mid-drive (finally) recumbent

Hey Warren, Which Shimano hub did you get 30K+ miles on? I froze up the freehub on my latest build after 200 miles. It was a used bike, and I don't know the history, but have been having convos with the guys at Blue Wheel about which way to go, replace freehub or build up a ridiculously...

Rear hub for TDSZ2 - need recommendation

I only got a few hundred miles on my TDSZ2 build before the freehub body seized up. It's a used Shimano FH M475. LBS thinks maybe the torque from a mid drive was too much and says the M475 is not a particularly strong hub to start with. I'm wondering what others have used on their builds.

    26" Rim Suggestions

I just re-built my original wheel from em3ev using a Rhyno Lite XL, 26", 36 hole. Seems fine but I don't have many miles on it. It is 24mm inner, 29mm outer. Running a Schwalbe Big Apple on it. I have a Mac 10t.

    TSDZ2 bridge plate/non-rotation bracket options

Yeah, that torque collar seems like a good idea. Not sure how you get it tight, though. Right in the center is the clamp that goes around the frame. You can sorta make out the tightening screw. In this you can see one of the small clamps that wraps around the tsdz2 screw and the frame clamp...

    TSDZ2 bridge plate/non-rotation bracket options

I have a similar situation with my Trek Transporter cargo bike. I screwed in the bolt that holds the clamp piece to the motor, without the clamp piece. Then I ran a stainless steel hose clamp around the frame behind the bottom bracket, but didn't tighten it. I then ran two or three small...

Buying e-bike with kaput hub motor - help!

Sounds like it's too late, but I don't like the rear battery carrier, unless it can be removed, or the rim brakes.

If this is it, I wouldn't buy it. https://community.raleighusa.com/bikes-archive/2015-venture-ie-series/2015-venture-ie

    Newbie Specialized Globe 1 Conversion

I think the usual advice is to make sure your front fork is steel, not aluminum. Also, I can't tell from that page whether or not the front kit is disc brake compatible. I'd check on that. You should be able to mount a battery on the downtube with no problem.
