    Strava for E-bikes?

Its an old thread but I have same question really. I've hunted through the menus on Strava and can see that a ride can be changed to an e-bike ride but cannot see how to default future uploads (from Cyclemeter) to e-bike rides. You can set up your equipment but I can't see how you can set it to...

Where is a great place to find quality 18650 cells cheap?

No, brand new unused cells direct from the Polish factory ... they make for Samsung and Panasonic and Sanyo the brands he is able to get from this factory vary. Tumich has sold a lot to Endless Sphere friends - the freight from Poland takes a while but air-freight of batteries is becoming more...

Kiwis, step in and discuss your eBike experiences in NZ

I know solder is NOT the way to go ... but that's what I did (I have no access to a spot welder). I first built a battery from used/old laptop batteries... but had massive sag and soldering was imperfect so I started again with new cells - I saw on here that others had some success with solder...

Kiwis, step in and discuss your eBike experiences in NZ

I live in Upper Hutt and Kapiti. I did buy a volto bike $1800 off trade me ... it was a rear hub 350 watt 35km/hr machine and was great on the flat ... but in Wellington area we have hills... LOTS of hills and without a real sweat up going over 400 metre high Moonshine Hill was a stretch ...

Im not going to bother with a BMS

    1) The BMS gives you no visibility as to where the individual cells are at - you need the 1-8 cell LEDs to give you voltages otherwise the battery is a black box. 2) There is no balancing going on with a BMS if the pack is not fully charged - we don't want to fully charge to maximise the life...

Daily commute vid with new BBSHD

I am also commuting on a BBSHD - on nice sunny days only... chased a rabbit the other day! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_L-g-3q41Qc I got a BBS02 first but it failed after only a couple of rides < 100 km - happily I was refunded and purchased a BBSHD - it has not missed a beat :-)

Bafang BBS02 Vendor & Reliability Poll

Paul at EM3EV stood by me with a full refund and even return shipping for my failed BBS02. He was grizzly - he wanted me to pull it apart and mess with it given the cost of shipping ... but the motor had only been a few kms and really not even stressed, it was even a despec'd 18amp controller...

Which display do you prefer to use with BBSHD?

I've had a 965 the DC-10 and now the colour one ... I do like the voltage display for 52v pack and the power output reading. What would be spectacular would be a trip power meter... how many watt hours for that trip?.... Sadly I still have to have a watt meter in my pack to figure that out -...

Do you use a helmet mirror?

Further experimentation ... the helmet mirror was small and there was some wobble too so I tried the mirrors that stick out the end of the handlebars - more firmly attached. The best yet for me http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281891766382?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT...

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

Don't believe so ... but the new colour display will display voltage if you choose custom battery (or the analogue bars for those with 48v) - so at least you know where it is at. Getting below 3.2v x 14s ~ 45v is BAD!

BMS mystery - how does it actually work?

Curious about this part too... most I suspect will now be charging to 80% with BMS - so, does this mean we are no longer balancing our cells as they are never charged to 100% so the BMS is never having a crack at discharging the over voltage cells?

    GPS tracker

I use this http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Waterproof-Real-Time-Car-GPS-Tracker-GSM-Vehicle-Tracker-Phone-SMS-Global-Locator-Anti-Theft-Car/32592111813.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.108.u5gVw9 hooked up to a 12v DC-DC converter. I needed to buy a $5 prepay SIM card and top it up with credit to...

How To Wire a 12V Brake Light and Turn Signals

I can't see how I can connect any of the wires incorrectly as each plug has a locator to ensure it is the correct way around. However, I am wondering with only one brake sensor connected perhaps this causes this anomaly. With one of the sensor plugs disconnected completely and the other...

How To Wire a 12V Brake Light and Turn Signals

and the other give away was when I got on it to ride it the motor doesn't go until I brake :-) I have obviously connected something incorrectly when reassembling after my crash!!
