As a reality check. I have been using that switch (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0171G7BKC?th=1) for switching the PhaseRunner remote on/off for a year now with no problems...
Probably not the same issue, but I had a CA where one of wires inside the factory cable that goes from the CA to the motor controller had a slight break. So I would get all sorts of crazy intermittent failure where the CA would shutdown (go blank) and then maybe startup again a bit later. Of...
Oh well, turns out that didn't really fix it. The fantastic folks at Grin Tech had proactively reached out to me about it and are going to check it out and see what the problem is after I send it back to them.
Luckily I have a second one on hand that I can swap it out with.
Not sure if this should be its own post or be part of this thread. But here goes.
TL:DR: Discovered that if the main electronics board in the CA is pressed down a bit, it caused the CA to reboot or shutdown.
I've been having intermittent outages of my CAv3 ever since I got it. I'd be riding...
I replaced some funked up BB7 mechanical brakes. You are welcome to them, but I don't recommend them in general and these in particular will need rebuilding...
Got some ruby code I run on Raspberry Pi for the Cycle Analyst 3, Phaserunner and GPS that are all connected to the Raspberry PI via USB (using the Grintech USB cables for CA and Phaserunner):
cycle_analyst_logger It can log all three. It outputs a CSV file with data from the CA/Phaserunner/GPS...
I haven't put the fan on yet. Got too tied up trying to get an ESP-8266 to control it
As I think I had mentioned before, I was suspicious that the Statorade leaked out of the screw hole where the brake rotor should be mounted (Its a Grin Tech sourced H3540 motor). I originally did not...
Just connect the Ground black and EBK Blue to the two wires from the brakes. Don't need the 5V for these brakes.
I have the same brakes, Love them! So much nicer than having to constantly muck with the BB7s. I just cut off the Higos and put my own JST on it.
For those who come here looking for an answer. My problems were indeed due to my poor connector building / wiring abilities.
My learning was: Use the proper crimping tool for JST connectors. Don't try to do it with needle nose pliers and solder. Make sure the JST pins are really pushed in all...
I put these on my 2011 ICE Trike for the two front wheels + 180mm disc and its been great! Love not having to constantly adjust the old BB7s. I put a cheap Tektro mechanical brake on the rear wheel with the hub motor for a parking brake.
I just tried running it (without a Phaserunner connected) on my iMac Retina running macOS High Sierra 10.13.3
And got the error message:
Here's the crash report:
Process: PhaseRunnerSuite [71160]
Path...
