Can an Evolve Gen 2 be upgraded with GT parts?

G'day all, I have a well loved Evolve gen 2 Carbon with AT set up. I am trying to figure out what would be necessary to replace on my board to run a gt twin motor setup. What do you think? Clearly I need a mount for a second motor: can this be added to a Gen2 truck or do I need to run gt...

Evolve Carbon AT with 50km+ range

Yeah that's what I suspect but I'd love to know a way I could test it. My ebike commuter records batt cycles so that would be an indication but I don't know what I could measure on the board. I definitely would be up for a new battery build but I'll have a look at the new dual motor evolve is...

Evolve Carbon AT with 50km+ range

I have a 2nd, likely 3rd hand carbon AT. I suspect the battery might be on it last legs. I get power cut outs after about 5-7 kms of riding. Any advice on how I can test the state of the battery?

Evolve Carbon AT with 50km+ range

This is amazing. Any battery builders in Australia willing to cook me up one of these?! Though now that Evolve have just announced a new dual motor model I might be upgrading soon anyway!

Hey mate - really keen to hear your experience of the internal gear hub with the mid drive kit. How does it handle the power? I have an aft 1680w kit and would love to try an internal hub or back but am worried the motor might wear it out too quick.

AFT Giant Glor-E (Glory Glory Hallelujah!)

Yeah its a high return isn't it?! That figure (32Wh/km) was for that morning's trip only - I reset the CA before each ride to track the AH used so far on each trip, like a fuel gauge. That morning I rode fast on pretty much throttle only - with a few tracks thrown in! Average elevation was also...

AFT Giant Glor-E (Glory Glory Hallelujah!)

UPDATE: April 2015 Thanks for the interest people. I’ve been out clocking up the first 500kms so can update with a progress report. I should cover the questions raised already, but point out if I miss any. So - what has changed? I think I’ve said it already, but a kit you build yourself is...

AFT Giant Glor-E (Glory Glory Hallelujah!)

Thanks for the comments all - Pretty much all the people whose builds I have checked out on this forum have checked in here. Seems to be a bit of an AFT club/community developing which is great. Im sure I'll continue to have questions to ask you all. I've knocked up about 170kms in the last...

AFT Giant Glor-E (Glory Glory Hallelujah!)

Thanks JK - I look forward to going to work now because its an opportunity to ride the bike again! I head out at lunch for a 20 minute blast to clear my head and come back buzzing. The main issue is bugs in my teeth because Im like this :D all the time! I went for another ride this arvo and I...

AFT Giant Glor-E (Glory Glory Hallelujah!)

So here I am breaking cover: long time lurker - first time poster. I've just joined the world of e-biking by fitting an AFT mid-drive kit to a 2009 Giant Glory. This is my first e-bike build, my first e-bike owned and my first e-bike ridden. Once I came across the concept of e-bikes it just...

AFT mid drive giant glory 2013

Thanks for the build log, this looks like a great combination frame/kit. Being in Melbourne makes the AFT kit pretty attractive. I'm interested in doing something similar (ripping off shamelessly!), especially with the kind of performance and range figures you've quoted. A couple of...
