I just used the hub motor as an example, most are just 6355 or 6374 stators. the vesc works great sensorless! so much that I haven't bothered to try sensors. what esc are you using now? im not sure what you mean by the speed being the same, the wheel/motor make a reduction, so changing size...

I was going to suggest this but wasn't sure of your background. It would be a very simple setup. i'd use a trinket/digispark or something similar. you only need 1 analog and 1 pwm 8)

wow that foam copter remote is very similar to whats used with some cheap boards like koowheel. If it is the same its actually nrf24 which could be hackable.(depends on the micro) I think i want one to mess with.

Nice to see more engineers coming into this hobby. for a single drive esk8 with 10s4p you can take your pick of cells. samsung 25p are popular. I like hg2 for the extra capacity. A vesc can safely handle 50A battery current, I use cheap lipo with lower settings and still get great performance...

those can really only carry kids up hill. and they would not be stable with training wheels.

you should be able to calibrate your esc with the input. it could also be the hall sensor throttle does not "use" the full travel. or the interface circuit is crap.

I have the mini remote too and it does the same when you turn off the controller. I think theres a way to fix that in the vesc settings but it hasn't been a real problem yet, just turn off the board first. the other issue seem like your supply just doesn't have enough power. try a 4s - 6s lipo...

those are pretty much the same batteries that boosted uses, x3 so you should be fine. The vesc setting is more of an upper limit, it won't regulate it or anything so you'll still get 42 - 38ish full to empty and 44/45v on braking... the more i think about all the mechanical i'm just seeing...

that battery has a xt60, but i would use a xt90 with it for an anitspark key. also get those batteries straight from hobbyking, half price! but i would look at the 8 or 10 ah packs, about the same price, but thinner and of course more capacity.

I'm using a pulley printed with 3d solutions petg and it just started squeaking today, kinda blends with the motor noise so its not that much of an issue. But i'm going to print another one with TPE (Flex ~90a ish) and see if that works better. its still stronger than abs, cheaper than nylon..

Do you plan on rolling up pike's peek? or pulling a group of longboarders up hills? Surely overkill for anything else. its going to weigh at least 50lbs to have enough batteries for 12kw! anyways take lots of video and set an uphill speed record! 8)
