    24s BestechPower BMS Thread

I swapped d131 units and it worked. something must be shorting on this unit.. I resued the same wire harness. Both were pulled out of the wrapping this week. Too bad. All is good now. I wouldn't haven tried this any of this if it wasn't for all your efforts dnmum.

The resisters 12 and 13 are hot when no charging current is applied. It's running the cell down as if it's trying to balance. Like I said I'm getting the correct voltage on all 18 sense wires and the output terminals have voltage as well... just no current.

I'm getting the right voltage across all the sense wires. 3.85 across the board totalling about 69.3. At first glance each channel appears to be happy with correct voltate when walking up with a volt meter. What I did find surprising is that resisters 12 & 13 are hot while all others are cool...

    24s BestechPower BMS Thread

So I have confirmed that my wiring is accurate. I decided to hook up 24s to see if it works when all banks are full and it does which is good. For some reason 18s is triggering protection with the remaining channels empty. I was searching old threads and read about how you disconnected one of...

It is the D131. Sequence verified while assembling and confirmed before connecting. I will check again and watch closely for a reversed channel. Very possible. Thanks again dnmun.

On another slightly different topic.. I'd like to try one of my spares on an 18s pack which I have. So far I pulled out the extra leads and get a 75v reading through the bms but no current draw and no response from the controller or motor. Evetything is fine when I bypass the BMS. I'm assuming...

    24s BestechPower BMS Thread

I'm confident that it would operate after some minor repair (and serious cleaning) as you say and I just might do that one day when I'm bored or find a need to revive it. I bought 4 units for various projects suspecting that I would stumble with one of them at some point. The solder pooled...

It did hold on it's promis to protect from a short.. on the output terminal no problem... as soon as I touched the input terminal it was a spectacular light show. Proble leads, contact pad, solder and wire shot up into the air in a cloud of white light. Boy did it ever throw me off. I'm usually...

    24s BestechPower BMS Thread

That's good news. So higher cells would discharge while the other cells balance during bulk charging? I basically did just that cut the pins and removed the top power module which i can no longer trust after trying to take a reading off of it while the meter was still in "amp" mode. I...

    24s BestechPower BMS Thread

Has anyone ever separated the lower module from the top and used the bottom only as a balancer for charging? I'm trying to see if I can salvage one of my bestech 24s bms'. I know that bestech sells the balancer module as the D131A. I was thinking of keeping it connected permanently for when I...

    Greentime controllers

Update: Connected the daymak scooter speedometer to the blue phase wire in case anyone is wondering how to hook up the speedometer on a chinese scooter. I'm getting fairly accurate speed readings. Fairly accurate means a margin of 5-10kph. It's hitting around 70kph without a load and 64km on the...

    Greentime controllers

My set up is 21s2p lipo at 45 amps. It feels like a frieght train. Anything more than 22s I think is at risk of faliure. Unless you're off road I woudn't want to challenge my controller and end up peddling my sorry ass home while fighting a non-geared motor. I commute so it's not a good idea...

    Greentime controllers

My two controller were at the highest setting out of the box. As soon as I started jumping them I noticed the reduction in speed. Not too dramatic though so the default programming on the speed switch it probably 90% - 80%. The other group of wires you describe is probably the black jst-sm...

Volt Amp Speed Km combo meter

Came across this on ebay. I'm thinking of giving it a try as a retro fit to one of my scooter monstrosities. Anyone have any experience with it? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-72V-85A-DC-Electric-motorcycle-Volt-Amp-Speed-Km-combo-meter-/300680946440?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4601fb2308

    Greentime controllers

I have a bunch of 72v 15 fets and thought it would be fun to use one of them in an old 2010 daymak austin. I'm having a hard time figuring out the speedometer connection. Do I just pull out the yellow and black from the cycle analyst plug? The speedometer was plugged into the old controller...
