    Aussie 200 Watt Limit Thread

My understanding is that the aus post bikes have undergone some kind of approval process - not sure of the specifics.Power output is limited by the controller & when measured at the motor is within the 200 watt limit. This approach was adopted to improve motor life, the smaller motors suffering...

10th Dec: Melbourne Australia ride and social chat

Looks like I won't be able to make it this time. Please keep in the loop for future rides. I hope the wet weather holds off until later in the day. Enjoy!

Great idea, but not sure if I can commit due work. My battery is showing its age so I'm only getting about 25 - 30kms range. Bayside or Yarra trail are both good choices. Could also consider Port Melbourne & then take the punt across and on to Williamstown for cafe stop. T

Battery rack solution for full suspension frame

I came across this the other day when I searching for something else. It could a solve a problem for rear suspension frames and also be a flexible add on for anyone wanting an extra rack (up front) when a second batt is needed for longer trips...

    Aussie Role Call

Looks like it's not going to come together. Cost of getting my batts to Perth & back by courier $250  plus exess baggage for the bike etc will all add up to make it an unviable proposition. I might just hire an MTB when I get there & do a day trip or overnight on a section of trail...

    Aussie Role Call

Thanks for all the info Greg - local knowledge is good to have. I would definately have knobbies - thinking about Continental Cyclecross Plus. Already have good rear panniers, but may need some up front by the time extra batt, charger and clothing go into the mix. Camping would be my choice, but...

    Aussie Role Call

Well now, that looks like a lot of fun! I hope those trails aren't part of the Munda Biddi though - looks like too much of a challenge for my ebike.

    Aussie Role Call

OK, I've just booked a week's leave in September. Couldn't decide between Broome or tropical QLD so I've booked a flight to Perth. My plan, such as it is, is to ebike part/all of the Mundaring - Collie section of the Munda Biddi. My legs & available charge points will dictate the final...

What a basic ebike can do

Looks very much like a Tongxin motor in terms of szxe, weight and silent operation. Not sure if I like the idea of the boost button; a throttle is a pretty simple & intuative arrangement. The bikes certainly look nice though - have you had a chance to see one in the flesh and test ride?

    The Tongxin Motor thread

48V? What speed are you getting out of it? On my second 36V motor I could do 41km/h.

GPS? I find the altimeter indispensable for instrument landings!

I meant I just hooked up my 36 v battery to the in line shunt that came connected to the CA (controller hooks up to the other side)

Just tried this, but it made no difference. I'm at a loss.....

    CA install headache

With 36 V across the shunt this is all I am getting on the display. No response from the button......anyone know what's going on here?
