I'm stuck on the wrong side of the track. After all I did to prepare. I forgot to bring my battery chargers. So after my open track time I had to run the batteries home to charge. I couldn't leave them sitting all day the way they were. I rode 37.7 miles at an average speed of 30.4mph. My...

    rear geared hubmotor advice sought

Well it's been several months since I've posted to the forums. I had a 408/4012 rear hubmotor installed in my velomobile but removed it due to some perceived limitations. With the c-lyte motor and 48v 18Ah SLA the weight bothered me. I was able to obtain my desired range of 26 miles on a single...

Relocate my hub motor to botom bracket drive ala stokemonkey

First off I ride a velomobile. For those that don't know a velomobile is a trike, usually a recumbent, with a body on it. I currently have a rear hub motor installed in it. Lately I've been toying with the idea of removing the hub motor from the wheel and installing it in front of my chain rings...

Using Reverse as an Electric Brake?

I have a 20a 36-72v clyte controller with a reverse switch. After reading several times about the hub motors having a higher rolling resistance rolling backwards with the controller turned on, I decided to try a little experiment while rolling into my parking spot at work. I flipped the switch...
