Yea and NY is broke...I wonder who paid for the "NY police benevolent association" ad during the Super Bowl to the tune of 3 mil for a 30sec ad!!!??
Yup small town bullshit alright, funny thing is most people that have commented on it thought it was a great idea and I should patent it. ( of...
I’d rather not pinpoint my location at this time, but it’s a small town in upstate NY. I only ride 4 -5 miles daily, to and from work. But there are 3 diff. police dept. that cover that small area. There are no bike lanes or even wide shoulders, so the trike takes up a little more...
Well is was fun while it lasted. Almost 2 years a 3000 miles later the local cops shut me down on my trike. Frigging small down bullshit. I'd been hearing rumors lately, and I think it turned into a pissing match between local and state police "If you don't pull him over I will" type of thing...
2nd winter for me in NE. I've ridden in 6+ inch of snow (studded snows ) and never had a problem with motor or batteries. I did however have to replace a rim because spoke nuts pulled thru the oxidized rim holes.
I've been thinking along the same lines as raising the limit to at least 30mph, as this is the common limit in cities, and local streets. E powered bikes (trikes) would be less of a hazard, would blend in better with traffic, (there is always a left turn problem), ya da ya ya da, we need to get...
DOC. where and how much for the wheels, cause i just e-mailed KMX, and they said they don't stock them?
ALSO, can ya take some close-ups of the suspension of your new trike, I want to build one with suspension. Thanks..
Your best bet is to talk to him directly (e-mail) and tell him what you want.
OR...buy a cheap generic box and have one of the guys here mod it for your specs.
IF YOUR REALLY SERIOUS.."Methods" 100v 100amp controller has yet to be broken (as far as I know)...not cheap...BUT WORKS... ( I made...
I agree on 3 wheels, built right . they are and/or more staple as 4, and they are still...bike / motorcycle...a lot easier to run legal. (depends on your state/county)
Any 1 got more info/links on the pics above....looks like some huge caps on that thing...like to know more on that setup...
Gotta hang on the the grab handle to keep from falling off, it corners sweet. I had it on two wheels once. Most commercial ones will tip on two easy, I made mine a bit wider and longer to prevent it.
Wider angle. I was going to put the batteries in the City boxes, but I had plenty on room behind the seat, so I had a box made up. Now I have plenty of cargo room in the boxes.
Well I finally got it pretty much finished. After some trial and error with the rear suspension, I wound up removing the shock for now. I used Hyd. front disc, with two levers that I can pull at the same time. The joy stick steering worked out pretty good. I currently have it setup for winter...
Actually it should work fine if I tweak it down a bit.
Ok here is the control board out the charger, it has 4 pots, current, float vdc, equ vdc, dc offset
The first 2, I get, but what do the Equ, and offset do??
It's a Schauer 36v JAC0436R/3 http://www.batterystuff.com/battery-chargers/36-volt/all/JAC0891-102.html
Brand New too...the only thing I can think is that it didn't cut off, and over charged the packs...I should put the darn thing on a timer...damn ..4 packs. Whats the warranty on these things??
WTF happen...it looks like I somehow killed 4 36v boch fat packs all at once.
I have 2 sets of 4 parallel packs, and 2 36v chargers, 1 for each set. I run them in series to 72v.
I disconnect the series connection, and hook up the 2 chargers to each parallel set of 4.
Been working fine for a...

Or use a single to flash a spdt relay
AGREED WHOLEHEARTEDLY .....Glad I caught it in time.
In this case...unless it's reinforced in some fashion..(torque arm...etc.)..it won't matter..bike frames are make for people power....huge difference when you add a motor.
