    110V transformer on 220V?

    Is this going to cause a thermal event? I know that I'll theoretically get 2x the output voltage, which is what I want. Impedance is frequency-dependent and not voltage-dependent (right?) so I should just see 2x (4x?) the parasitic power. Is that all? Or will I burn something up?

    Hello all, I have a 36v 1kW PMDC electric motor and I am considering electrifying my bike with it. How much fun can I have with 1kw? What kind of gearing do you think I ought to aim for?
