Field trip to powervelocity a.k.a. Vad's house.

Update: Running the controller at 4kw peak on a 18s pack and it's very quick. much faster response from this than my adappto which is weird. when adappto is set to 6kw peak, and this one set to 4kw, PowerVelocity's controller is more powerful. Which would seem to indicate it's more efficient...

Field trip to powervelocity a.k.a. Vad's house.

Hi all, I like vector and really enjoy my vector/adaptto bike, but I was intrigued by powervelocity's inexpensive Bluetooth enabled sine wave controllers. And as luck would have it he lives near my dad in Sacramento California so I stopped by to say hello, and take his controller (and entire...

Need help to choose my new controller

For any motor more VoLTs 2"will give a higher top speed assuming unlimited amps. More amps will give faster acceleration, same top speed for the same voltage. I don't know that scooter, but the first thing i did is ditch sla for lithium. Lighter is faster Also less voltage sag is faster...

Salvage "older" 18650 cells from laptops.

No, don't get them. Used mixed cells will go out of balance quick and be a pita to charge. Also laptop cells are not high c rated so you'd have a big low output pack. I got 40 laptop and tried it. Huge amount of work for little reward, not worth. It even for free imo.

ADAPTTO Controllers - new functions discussion

Great product! easy switch between profiles. profile would be all settings. ie eco/normal/boost settings/battery settings/throttle and motor settings. so you can swap between bikes/ chargers/users etc. controller temp on main page, or configure what data is on front page. phone integration and...

recomendation for a 75v-->12v buck converter?

That would be perfect. Searched wall wart buck and got the answers I needed. And I have dozens of spares at work. Thanks a bunch!

recomendation for a 75v-->12v buck converter?

hi all, I stepped up my voltage from 48v to 66-75v and need a good buck(step down) converter to get the voltage down to useable levels-12ish volts. All the pre-made modules I can find top out at 60v, anyone know a good one that can handle higher input voltages?

Please help me find the gremlin : /

seconded on checking cell balance. is the pack sealed up or can you read the per cell voltage? if you can check per cell, ensure that they are all the same. mine are 4.21 4.20 4.19 4.20, etc, when i'm done charging, and 3.44 3.45 3.43 3.44 etc when I'm done. This is a pretty good sign that your...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Cowardlyduck and ridethelightening, Thanks guys, very helpful! I'll test both of those. Under power profiles how to you get ---? I can only get the lowest or highest setting. I spent 4 hours last night reading both this entire thread- 130 pages of it! And the adapt to manual from their...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Got my Mini E working finally! Does anyone know if it's supposed to be slow to throttle up? for example, I open the throttle up from a standstill and I get 4a, then 7, then 10, then 20, then 30a over about 5-10 seconds. it's smooth as silk, but i'd like it to just go wide open on me. That...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

Artur is helping me via PM. looks like red/green are power, but I accidentally hit the chassis. as you said, keep them isolated, as it's just a loop to provide power to the brains of the unit. I'll follow up once I get things more figured out.

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

tried green/red. they were hot at 45v. just blew about a half inch off the red wire. so, I'm guessing that's not the on/off. my controller doesnt have anything that looks like the on/off on your's. I'll get a photo...

    Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread

HI guys, I'm a new Mini-e owner, trying to get the darn thing to work. I plugged in motor, hals, screen, throttle, and batteries- 45v. I get nothing on the screen. the diagram on their page shows a power on/off switch, but I don't see any wires for on/off? there's a 4 wire PAS sensor, and a...

    Melted a ebikekit mini-hub motor-2500watts cont.

The problem is, I go to solve one problem, " I need to carry my bike for my commute" build it small/light. Now all I needed to do was not push it. So I pushed it a bit.. and a bit more.. and a bit more. I swapped the wheel out with a BMC v2. I'll check the leafmotor, but this was supposed to...

    Melted a ebikekit mini-hub motor-2500watts cont.

I know! I chatted with you about it when I bought it. somewhere in your chat logs I stated I intend to overvolt and destroy it and won't make warranty claims. ;-) This isn't a bad thing about this motor, I'm 240 Lbs, riding a big 29er up a 15% grade. If I ride gently before the grade the motor...

    Melted a ebikekit mini-hub motor-2500watts cont.

too much trouble, my neighbor has a oil cooled motor, but I really just want to get home on the lightest possibly bike, I'd rather add a thermo-control unit to kill power when it over heats. I dont' NEED to be going that fast. I just have self control issues.

    Melted a ebikekit mini-hub motor-2500watts cont.

I've ran my bmc v2t at 2500 for about 3000 miles now, I did cook a HAL at 60 amps, 100v when I was playing with it. These days I'd prefer not to get killed. 50amps 48v seems reasonable? I liked the little motor as I have to take the bike up and down 3 flights of stairs daily for BART. Hence...

    Melted a ebikekit mini-hub motor-2500watts cont.

for those wondering what a mini geared motor can do,I took the 350 watt model from ebike kit, mated it to a basic controller set to 2500 watts max, and ran it for a few weeks with no issues in 10 minute intervals, typical speed to 30mph, brake to stop sign usage, with one 800 ft hill climb at...

Commuter Booster - <1kg Friction Drive

Hi guys, Have you all been doing this by hand? or do you have CAD files for it? I'm thinking of trying out E-machineshop, and this looks like a great project to start with. if anyone has cad files they'd be willing to share that would be awesome.

    Let Us All Compile Information

There are too many variables for there to be a "chart" to cover everything. There are many, many posts about what motor x can take in terms of watts and speeds, etc. but it's not that cut and dry, motors perform better at certain rpms on certain rim sizes, with certain controller settings. It's...

My price / benefit comparisons of lipo vs lifepo4

Started lead acid. Garbage. Then 48v 10ah lifepo pack. It was lighter and faster, but still big and wanted more speed. Upped amps on controller and lifepo sagged horribly at 40a. Then, after 50-100 cycles, wear and tear on battery started. Bms buggy, so pulled it, charger broke, replaced, a...

"Destination Discovery" Extended Range MXUS 3000W Build

Welcome back ice. I returned myself, and recall you from 2011. Those batteries are amazing for the price and it's. A great build. Sorry the custom frame didn't work out. Just built up a surly 29er, works like a dream. I'm going for light build though I am tempted by this beast!

    Dogman Dan's Trashrunner longtail

Yea, I first had that problem when i put a new spool on it. also, the roller ceramic thing wears a bit. If your welder looks like mine, the arms that hold the rollers are plastic, and they stretch over time. no amount of tightening will help. I'll take a picture to night that might help...
